Good point, limsy..
The best example is LCW who has no sparing partner in the world's Top 10th MS, yet he is still able to be on the top two for several years until now. Several young guns who are training with Dato LCW are yet good enough to be world beaters.
It takes more than just having good sparring partners, coach, facility, etc to be one of the world beaters.

Cheam June Wei's win over Joshi Pratul was really unexpected, not sure if his seniors (besides Joo Ven and Teck Zhi) can do better
Hope to see him challenge for the title in a few years' time, but Malaysia is pretty short on talent in other departments, compared to 2007-2011 era

Cannot blame BJSS ppl solely. Remember the recent issue with the boys, Darren and Joo Ven? The parents were told to forward their letters of plea to the 'kementerian'....Apparently the higher ups have the ultimatum on which tourneys the juniors must compete in. Shock? Nah...typical MAS politics in sport....

Indeed, this won't apply in all cases. But for, say, 10 so-so talents, provided they have all the best sparring partners, best training facility, and numerous chance to compete in tournaments... I'm sure at least 1 or 2 of them will shine.
Sparring with Peter? Jan O.
Cai/Fu? Chai/Guo.
Lee Hyun-il? Shon Wan-ho.
Lin Dan? Chen Long and Wang Zhengming.
Yes I know, none of them reach the level of their sparring partner (and I think they'll never be). But you cannot say they are bad players, no?
This doesn't make things easier for Vito.
This Yuki Kaneko is good in both singles and doubles. Perhaps Japan's answer for Kang Ji-wook?
