Lin Dan as a coach
.
Many BCers are wondering what Lin Dan would be doing after his retirement as a player.
Will Lin Dan become a Badminton coach?
This is the first demonstration (video) that I have received from China, regarding Lin Dan advising/talking about his excellent backhand service.

Most all time greats can't coach to their own level of success because they push upcoming players to be just like them and most just won't wanna be like them.

With his vast array of experiences, I'm sure cold/hot water re-hydration/rejuvenation is the least of his worries going into coaching (he should know more than the average Joes and Janes). Trust, he knows quite a lot about injury prevention, needless to say.

I doubt if LD will coach. He has enough cash to explore many other options.

He's a smart man. My guess is he will try something else first after his retirement. Badminton coaches don't earn as much as he currently does.

If Lin Dan loves Badminton, he will be involved in Badminton after his retirement
.
IMHO, if Lin Dan loves Badminton, he will be involved in Badminton after his retirement.
Regarding earning income, there is not much money to be earned from Badminton.
Look at all past great players. We can see that they are still involved in Badminton because they are passionate about Badminton, not because they can earn higher income.

Am sure he will do it for passion reason. He is also another candidate for BOD in LiNing company. It's time for LiNing to pay back.

Most likely he will only do it for someone who can beat his record. Else, the may feel embarassed to take up the challenge.

Been there done there. Chinese elite athletes are all trained full-time from a very young age. They lose a lot of what others normally learn and experience. Maybe he will still be involved in badminton in one way or the other, but I don't think he will just become a coach as everyone else is expected to be.

Yes, he's a smart man, so he will start his own brand of business like Li Ning.
And he said he loves fashion design, so he may study this to help his own business, sports fashion.
And yes, he loves badminton, when he have a successful business, lot of money, he should set up a badminton school.

Whether LD will be a coach could be influenced by XXF. If LD has to stay with the national team, he and XXF will be separated most of the time, and that's not good to start a family.
