Im still looking for a racquet that suits me. I used to play with an arcsaber 100 which I loved. I'm aware it is a medium flex racquet but I'm not sure about what suits me. I have an arcsaber 8DX but I don't get enough power out of it, my smashes and mid court play were ugly. Should I stick with medium flex? Even balance? Where I am, it's nearly impossible to get my hands on a racquet to test it so I have to order one. I love smashing and I'm proud of my smash's speed. My technique is not amazing but I do use correct pronation.Any suggestions?Cheers

Perhaps you could try other string type, or you might want to adjust your string tension. These two affect playability too...

I had an arcsaber 7 for a month before the arcsaber 100 and I quite liked it. It was 24lbs bg80. I was just thinking maybe I should go with something with enhanced tech like v70/v80?

Eh, the tech isn't really as important as many other factors. Try changing the string and tension first.

The 8DX is definitely much stiffer than the 7, so it seems like medium stiff is good for you. Maybe something a bit head heavier would be good too.

So I'm looking at a voltric 70 or a meteor x70? That sort of thing?

Yup, VT70 would be a good choice. MX70 isn't actually medium stiff, so no. MX60 is a very well-received racket and is the mid-stiff one, so that would be another one to look at.

Oh right, I'm confused with the stiffness ratings on the separate brands. Any other racquets similar to voltric 70 around? Because that one in particular I may have to order. I see v80 a lot but never the 70.

Also think about the weight of the racket and the type of game you play. a 3u vt70 may be too head heavy for doubles. A 4u may be better for doubles as it is faster without sacrificing too much power.

I play singles mostly. I only play doubles if I'm called on for a friendly match.

Then 3U should be fine. Hmm, similar specs to VT70? What brands do you have available to you?

Hmmm regarding stiff and mid flexibility, will it suit certain kind of plays like wristy player and player who swings mostly ?

Provided I have time with all my performance piano stuff, I can get my hands on anything.

Yes, the Voltric 5 ... after reading coach Paul's review I tried it in a large shop and bought it. So far it suits me well.

Voltric 5 is a little different in terms of the specs I'm after. I would also prefer a high end model as this will be for tournament use, not club use. Haha, the arc 100... I'd love another but they're so darn expensive.

The recommendations for VT70 and MX60 still stand! :)

    Maybe also a Li-Ning N70 or Kason C7.

Bought a Li-Ning N50 following testing of 20 different racquets on court. I was reasonably forgiving, smashes were nice and crisp, drops were very good and my clears were very good. It's not too head heavy of course, nor too stiff.

Nice, testing them out for yourself is always the best way to decide. The N50 is a great racket!
