Despite the lack of stars in the MAS GPG 2012 and the fact of the 7000 pts from winning the title will not even add to LCW's ranking, the home favorite is still expected to deliver the title this week.
Meanwhile, it's a rubber-game for the XD match.

Definitely inferior to Riky/Richi (having lost to them twice). They reached the Final of INA IC 2009 before being called up (correct me if I am wrong). Since they joined Pelatnas, they have been quite mediocre:
2010 - 6 tourneys (2 IC, 2 GP, 1 GPG, 1 SS) with the best result being QF of INA IC.
2011 - 9 tourneys (3 IC, 1 GP, 3 GPG, 1 SS, 1 SSP); reaching QFs of Vietnam GP, Korea GPG & SF of India IC.
2012 - 3 tourneys so far (1 IC, 2 GPG); reaching QFs of MAS GPG and SF of Osaka IC.
Irfan/Weni lead 11-10 at the interval of the decider.Last edited by badMania; 05-04-2012 at 04:44 AM.

The INA pair has a 5 pts lead at 17-12 now and Tommy takes the first-set 21-17.

Irfan Fadhilah/Weni Anggraini eventually beat the MAS pair 22-20, 17-21, 21-16 after close to 1-hr battle. They will face either Kang/Shin or Chrisnanta/Neo in the SF.
Overall, the 2 XD back-up pairs have exceeded expectation in reaching SF. Victory from either pair tomorrow will be considered a bonus!

Either the latest up-and-coming star Sindhu failed to impress or her unknown opponent put up a creditable fight.

She was a foreign talent and came here from China when she was around 13 years old. She's Singaporean by now.
She used to be SIN's No.1 WS, ahead of Gu Juan and Fu Mingtian and has won the US Open together with Kendrick Lee in MS a few years ago.
Her sudden drop in form was quite unexpected. Maybe she is determined to make amends?

Thanks for the info. At age 13 she came to Singapore, that means her formative years and training are a product of Singapore, not bad considering she had won the US Open WS title. May she continue to give us more pleasant surprises here though her opponent today is Nozomi, another player I picked to go to the final. Aiying beating Mitani is proof she can go one better, I believe.

If i'm not wrong, Busanan is just 16 years old...
No doubt, Thai WS is the best in term of regeneration...even better than China?
