Hello BC forums! I'm currently stuck on deciding which of these two rackets to get... they are both such good rackets for sure, and both will suit my play-style as they are not super stiff or super head heavy, and both are very good for playing doubles. However, instead of just simply getting both of them, which I wish I could, the question I want to bring up is "Which of these rackets would be a better pick?" Both rackets are slightly head heavy and stiff. Which one would you all prefer? Thanks!
Mind you both racquets are still stiff, just not as insanely stiff as MX80 BS LYD has faster swing, MX70 has better control IMO.
Thanks for the reply Power-wise, would the MX70 probably be stronger for smashes or would the BSLYD be on par to it as well?
BS LYD is not head heavy like the MX70 as its specs suggest. In terms of head heaviness, it's similar to the BS10. It will be a good doubles racket, sure, but if you're looking for the HH and want to choose between these two, get the MX70. You could also consider the BS11.
Yeah I was leaning towards the MX70 and will be getting that one, thanks! Also, which kind of Yonex string do you think would go nice with it?
if you have the strength to handle the mx80 stiffness, it would be better a choice but nevertheless, its your call. Enjoy the racket that you are getting *cheers*
I own a BS LYD and tried both mx70 and mx80 that belong to my friends. 1st of all, smashing power I could tell BSLYD is little less powerful than mx70. BS LYD is not really a smashing racquet anyway... However, when I tried mx80 and mx70... I prefer the x80 over the x70 eventho the stiffness of the x70 is much similar to my BSLYD Considering the mx80 or kason c7 now since I wanted a stiffer and head heavier racquet now
Same here ... prefer victor mx80 for smashes while BS series for speed and manoeuvring. Overall, it falls down on which benefit you really want to concentrate more .. power or speed ?
Yes I also changed my mind on getting a MX80 instead of a x70 and ordering today! Maybe in the future I'll get a LYD to compliment it
