Wink 2012 London Olympics Mens Singles Gold Medal winning odds

    .
Today, Tuesday 08-May-2012 (Melbourne Time), I have been given the betting odds for the Mens Singles Gold medal winner of the coming 2012 London Olympic Games.

    Here are the odds given;

    (1) Lin Dan 1.62
    (2) Lee Chong Wei 2.40
    (3) Chen Long 8.00
    (4) Peter Gade 25.00
    (5) Taufik Hidayat 25.00
    (6) Lee Hyun Il 25.00
    (7) Sho Sasaki 41.00
    (8) Boonsak Ponsana 41.00
    (9) Jan Jorgensen 51.00
    (10) Kenichi Tago 71.00

    What do our BCers think?

    Are these odds realistic?

There is no mention of Chen Jin.

I would guess that he could be more than 200-to-1. Why? Because Lin Dan and Chen Long are ranked higher than him.

once the definitive list has been published (ie. all national associations have submitted their final entries), then we will have a prediction thread for each event. before then, some entries are still speculative and non-final (like the lack of CJ here, for example)

    No I don't.

But I would expect it could be 'even money' for Wang Yihan.

I dont want to jinx on any of my favourite Chinese players in WS, so betting on them is not an option.

I certainly for sure do not want Nehwal to win it because she doesn't deserve it.. I will bet her to lose...

Hahaha... I have never heard of betting for a player to lose. But to do it, I suppose you can ask someone to bet against you that a player will win.
