Does anyone know a good leisure/sports centre in central London to play badminton in? I've already tried Somerstown, Finsbury, Brittania - they are all booked for the season already.

    Thanks

This is a great club - 4 courts, nice floors, high ceilings, good feather shuttles, not that many people so you can play almost continuously for 4 hours straight (or longer if you can find other people with the stamina to stay). Most of the people are Chinese, but there are also people from all over. They're very friendly about newcomers and there are players of all levels. It costs £4 per session.

Normally, there is a session every week, even on holidays, but the Council is going through some reorganisation, so the club will be playing somewhere else this week (just renting courts at a nearby leisure centre).

Otherwise, it's a really nice place to play.

Oops, i think i have found the location already, but it doesn't seem very close to either Warwick avenue or Edgware road station as far as i see on A-Z. Could anyone kindly point me out the best way of getting there? Thank you. :)

As I said earlier, it doesn't look like they will play this week, but should be there from next week onwards.

From Edgware Road tube station (there are two stations with the same name, one for Bakerloo line, one for central line, the Bakerloo line is closer), you just walk north up Edgware Road, and turn left onto Crompton Street and walk to the end, where you find a steel gate with a white dome looking building (called Westminster Play Centre I think). It's about a 5 min walk.

Yes, it's always on Sunday mornings. The official start time is 10 am, but there are always a few people who turn up earlier from about 9 am, to get a longer warm-up. I'd aim for about a 9:15-9:30.

    This Sunday

New people are always welcome but we're still waiting to hear from the Council as to if we will start using the hall again from this week or next. We will probably hear tomorrow or Friday.

Ok then. David, would you please post the result here once you get the answer from the Council? I really look forward to check out this lovely club. Thank you very much. :)
