I am wondering what are the options out there. Last time with Beijing Olympics 2008 it was very hard to find a good online source. I had to use a proxy to watch online content from NBC and the connection was pretty slow because of the proxy. And the local TV channel doesn't really focus on Badminton. sigh!!! I hope things got better since then. I have access to Shaw/MTS (TV channel provider). So, if anyone has any useful information please let me know. I don't want to rely on proxy anymore. NBC is good but only if I am in US.
Yeah. from Wiki i know CTV and TSN will show olympics games. But no where I can find if they will show badminton.
You can check the broadcast schedule on http://www.ctvolympics.ca/viewers-guide/index.html OMNI and ATN will broadcast badminton live! You may have to pay for ATN though. Many sessions will be carried on CCTV-1 and CCTV-5. It's time to find a way to climb the great firewall into China.
Probably have to watch via http://badmintonlink.com/Watch-Badminton-Live-Stream/2012_London_Olympics_Badminton - they carry CCTV-5 live stream.
they'll probably show something more popular first before badminton... i'm assuming bwf's badmintonworld.tv channel on youtube will stream it live and have delayed videos to watch, just like any superseries tournament? anyone know?
This Link: http://www.ctvolympics.ca/racquet-sports/index.html shows 3 game times,

8:30a Badminton All events - Group play stage matches

12:30p Badminton All events - Group play stage matches

6:30p Badminton All events - Group play stage matches

is it just they are showing schedule or you think i can click on it on that day and it will show you live stream like NBC. Man!!! CTV sucks!!! their site is so confusing.
The picture brightened considerably. The CTV viewer's guide above now shows something called "World Feed". While it is a far cry from NBC's court by court streaming, badminton coverage seems a lot more extensive than previously thought. Not sure how exactly this will work. Presumably, it can be accessed on-line or via smart phone apps.
All soccer matches on the first day are available on-line! If badminton gets the same treatment, it would be heavenly!
Mark your calendars! Here us the OMNI Olympics schedule and it includes badminton on: • Tues Jul 31 (10:30am-3:00pm PDT) • Thurs Aug 2 (9:00am-12:00pm PDT) • Sun Aug 5 (5:00am-11:00am PDT) http://omnibc.ca/olympic2012/
u will need subscription in order to be able to watch olympics online for nbc. they no longer provide free live streaming like the last olympics.
You just need subscription to the channel on TV. If you already have that, you should be able to access it at no extra charge online.
What is this "World Feed" crap? Is this an actual channel?! Sucks that people on the east coast have to grind and watch at 3:30am in the morning just to watch group play..
Re: "world feed" lisitng on CTV network.(Canada) I think that part of the chart is just showing you what feeds are coming out of London from which different licensed providers can choose to show in their countries. It's the parts above, with the icons, that tells you what CTV and its partners will broadcast in Canada. I'm glad for madbad and his fellows on Canada's Left-Hand Coast who get OMNI. But for many canucks it looks like the choices are watching badmintonlink or doing whatever it is that you have to do to your computer to fool NBC into thinking you live in America.
So, despite my scepticism, CTV in Canada is actually providing the live feeds on it's website, just as advertised! http://www.ctvolympics.ca/viewers-guide/index.html My apologies to my now-favourite Canadian broadcaster for slagging them earlier. (now just have to set my alarm clock to watch from 0300-0600h)
