Recommend to let Non-Asia Country to host Thomas-Uber Cup Finals especially for Denmark, England, Germany, Netherlands, etc. Anyone agree about this?

from the very beginning, only England hosted twice in year 1949 and 1982, other Europe Countries have never host Thomas Cup Finals before as Asia Countries dominate the host.

No MAS, INA, or CHN (again) please. Let the Europeans have it.

That's too bad. By far, the best stadium noise comes from Indonesian crowd!

sad to see Indonesia, as one of the biggest powerhouses of badminton, bowing out to a rising nation of Japan

    in both mens and womens

their standards are gone... look at Taufik and Kido / Setiawan, after winning Olympics where has their game gone... it's sad how players there think more about their personal lives than the country. Whereas China, they are always privileged to even be able to represent their country. I guess it's this cultural difference that separates them on the badminton court

but I wonder why they (indonesian badminton) still focus on the veterans when they have so many young talents they can push... e.g Rumbaka, Saputra / Pratama

used to be China, Denmark, Indonesia, Korea as the big 4... and now it's becoming China, Korea, Denmark, Japan

all credits to Japan though. they have improved so so much in their badminton. their coaching staff really made a big difference to their game. But I hope the current top players in indonesia can step themselves up

Ahahaha[IMG] , and that is related to badminton how? Maybe they are the best because they don't spend on useless things like hosting TUC ...

Then again, arguably Sudirman is a bigger event to host with more participating teams (and with their lack of depth they match up better) ?

Netherlands could only host European Men, Women and Mixed Team event back to back due to funding by the city of Amsterdam in promotion of their bid for Olympic Games ...

Any EU nation hosting it is fine, just that they may not be interested nor have the funding.

How about Australia? First raise the AUS GPG to Superseries staus to generate more interests.

Why not bring it to North America. Would love to see Canada host it. Of course a requisite amount of time is needed to get sponsorship and promote the event.

Are you sure that would generate more interest or just let Australia host it anyway...

But Australia would be quite expensive as a host.

It would be good if the TC/UC did go to more different places but if no bid comes....

Belgium should get it ;). With the 45% tax rate the govt can at least do something for this sport instead of wasting it on 3rd rank soccer :p. No idea whether the "Sportoase" stadium will fit though.

But yes, I'd love to see a EU country host the '14 cups. Germany is a fine choice.

any country is fine, as long as it can attract enough spectators and sponsors.
