This is the 4th year Candra Wijaya is organizing the Men's Doubles Championships. The competition will be very tight in all age categories.

The bolded pairs are the ones I would be keeping a close eye on.

MD - 5 out of the top 8 seeds are from PB Djarum
Rian Sukmawan/Rendra Wijaya [1] - no surprise about that

    Rizki Yanu Kresnayandi/Albert Saputra [2]

    Praveen Jordan/Didit Juang Indrianto
    [3]

Rangga Yave Rianto/Seiko Wahyu Kusdianto [4]

Alvent Yulianto Chandra/Hendra Setiawan [5] - hmm....this one is a dark horse contender for the MD title.

    Chrisna Adi Wijaya/Ridho Akbar [6]

Ronald Alexander/Selvanus Geh [7] - it's good to see the Pelatnas pair being fielded again in a domestic tourney.

    Dandi Prabudita/Wifqi Windarto [8]

Other non-seeded players from PB Djarum & Pelatnas:
Kenas Adi Heryanto/Sigid Sudrajad - Semi-Finalist of the Maldives IC 2012

    Ade Yusuf Santoso/Wahyu Nayaka A.P.

Edi Subaktiar/Arya Maulana Aldiartama - final few tourneys in preparation of the AJC 2012 at the end of the month.

BD U-19 - all the top U-19 pairs are in the Draw, except for Edi/Arya, barring some last minute cancellation
    Hafiz Faisal/Putra Eka Rhoma
[1] - aren't they supposed to be in Thailand in the same week? I have a feeling they will probably not be competing here

    R. Eka Fajar Kusuma/Rian Swastedian [2]

    Rizko Asuro/Wildan Atmaja [3]

    Hantoro/Arsya Isnanu Ardi Putra [4]Aldo Abdillah/Alfian Sangaji [5]
Ihsan Adam Wirawan/Setyaldi Putra Wibowo [6]

    Tedi Supriadi/Yantoni Edy Saputra
    [7]

Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Rafiddias Akhdan Nugroho [8] - my new favorite U-19 pair.

Other unseeded pairs from PB Djarum:
    Amal Ori Wibowo/Jeka Wiratama

    Kevin Ersa/Ricky Alverino Sidharta

Matches will start today. As expected, in BD U-19, Hafiz Faisal/Putra Eka Rhoma withdrew due to their participation in the Thailand Open GPG. As a result, Amal Ori Wibowo/Jeka Wiratama receive a free pass to R16. They should be able to progress to at least QF, facing probably Ihsan Adam Wirawan/Setyaldi Putra Wibowo [6].

The second quarter should feature Hantoro/Arsya Isnanu Ardi Putra [4] against Aldo Abdillah/Alfian Sangaji [5].

Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Rafiddias Akhdan Nugroho [8] begin their campaign against Anindya Pradana/Steven Gozali, a pair they had beaten easily in Sirnas Bandung 2 weeks ago. They might face a MAS pair Mohd Akmal/Tan Chee Tean in R16. Tan was the winner of the 100Plus Malaysia National Junior Circuit Zone A 2012 (2nd leg) in BD U-18. They are then expected to face Rizko Asuro/Wildan Atmaja [3] in the QF.

In the final quarter, the likely QFist will be Tedi Supriadi/Yantoni Edy Saputra [7] and Rian Swastedian/R. Eka Fajar Kusuma [2]. However, expect Kevin Ersa/Ricky Alverino Sidharta to challenge the second-seed in R16.

So far no problem for most of the seeded pairs in BD U-19, except for Rian Swastedian/R. Eka Fajar Kusuma [2] as they lost in 3-sets to Ellen Frederika S./Fajar Alfian, who just won the Sinar Mutiara Cup XX Dunlop Open 2012 last weekend. Ellen/Fajar will face Kevin Ersa/Ricky Alverino Sidharta for a place in the last 8.

    Other match-ups involving Djarum pairs:
Amal Ori Wibowo/Jeka Wiratama vs M. Fadly Anshor/Ricky Andreas

Hantoro/Arsya Isnanu Ardi Putra [4] vs Candra Wijaya/Septian Eka

Mohd Akmal/Tan Chee Tean vs Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Rafiddias Akhdan Nugroho [8] - let's see if the MAS pair is one of the prospect for the future.

Haris Prathama/Wilson vs Tedi Supriadi/Yantoni Edy Saputra [7]

Edi Subaktiar/Arya Maulana Aldiartama manage to stretch the veteran pair of Hendra Setiawan/Alvent Yulianto Chandra [5] to 3 tight-sets: 21-18, 18-21, 21-19. Well-done! The veterans will face Ade Yusuf Santoso/Wahyu Nayaka A.P. next.

This show how good is Hendra Setiawan now. I just realised after watching him in last two tourney, Axiata and TUC, i think he is going downhill already and can't see him so dominate on net anymore

2 reasons for Hendra Setiawan/Alvent performance. First, they do not practice together that often until now and both are same type, not a good pairing. The other one is :yes, Hendra Setiawan is not as good as 1 year ago.

somehow now i think bring back HS into pelatnas is not a good decision. but i think he won't get any decent partner outside pelatnas.

Yes... Agree... At this moment there are no current MD players who is good enough to pair with HS outside pelatnas. HS trains at Pelatnas is beneficial to the current young MD, they could learn something from HS. I believe his touch is still there, yet it has not been sharpen again, not to mention his speed & stamina which has been deteriorating due to age, marriage & lack of practice ( probably )..

I think from the current players, regardless of whether they are in Pelatnas or not, Hendra Setiawan should partner Ahsan and they might be the pair to challenge the best in the world.

Other than that, Hendra/Rendy should be beneficial for both players. Unfortunately, difficult to imagine any of these under current situation.

No problem for the in-form Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Rafiddias Akhdan Nugroho as they stroll into the last 8. Ditto for the other Djarum pairs: Omal Ari Wibowo/Jeka Wiratama, Hantoro/Arsya, and Tedi Supriadi/Yantoni Edy Saputra. Only the newly formed pair of Kevin Ersa/Ricky Alverino Sidharta lost to Ellen Frederika S./Fajar Alfian.

The odds are very high for an all-Djarum SF in BD U-19.

In MD, the QF match-ups will be (predicted winners in bold):
    Rendra Wijaya/Rian Sukmawan [1] - the top-seed receives a WO from Hendra/Alvent.

Praveen Jordan/Didit Juang Indrianto [3] vs Goh Jian Hao/Pang Zheng Lin - a tough match in store for the Djarum pair. The MAS pair has more experience.

Joko Riyadi/M. Nur Rofii vs Hendri Setiawan/Ronald Susilo

Hendra A. Gunawan/Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki vs Kenas Adi Heryanto/Sigid Sudrajad [2] - ditto...the ex-Pelatnas pair should take this one.

No all-Djarum SF for BD U-19. Nevertheless, Hantoro/Arsya and Kevin/Rafi both progress to the SF. They will face Ihsan/Setyaldi and Ellen/Fajar respectively. Yet again, an all-Djarum Final appears likely.

Jordan/Didit also beat the MAS pair in straight-sets and will challenge their seniors Rian/Rendra for a place in the Final. The other Final will be contested between Hendri/Ronald and AG/Yoke. I hope Jordan/Didit can beat Rian/Rendra and probably face AG/Yoke in the Final.

Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Rafiddias Akhdan Nugroho [8] are unbeaten since being paired together 3 tourneys ago. They should beat their team-mates Hantoro/Arsya Isnanu Ardi Putra [4] in the all-Djarum BD U-19 Final tomorrow as they had beaten them comfortably in 2-sets in the Sirnas Jakarta Final.

In MD, Praveen Jordan/Didit Juang Indrianto [3] lost narrowly to their seniors, the top-seeded Rian Sukmawan/Rendra Wijaya 20-22, 17-21, 19-21. Rian/Rendra will face the newly formed pair of Hendra A. Gunawan/Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki for the title showdown tomorrow.

3 titles in a row for Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Rafiddias Akhdan Nugroho. Enough said...they should not play in U-19 anymore.
