A mod puts his foot down while playing the game? DOES NOT COMPUTE!

I might chuck a few quid out of my Paypal to get some 0.50 Spectra... my poor grommets. If I do, be assured of a review - just need to decide on a suitably bizarre colour.

The more I look at the multifilament lines, the less inclined I am to go for them - they don't seem to have a discrete coating the way racket string does; it's as though they're "all core". Sadly, the monofil lines are significantly weaker for a given gauge (as in 0.70 is rated to less than 50 lb).

Still, it's only three quid from HK, and I can get some truly mental colours - might be worth a giggle for the last session of my season. Does anybody fancy doing a breaking pull on some BG80 to let me know which rated line to get?

There's plenty here for a start, and the vast (vast) majority of the cheapest Buy It Now results tend to be HK/CHN/TW based.

Another thing occurs to me: floppy Spectra is going to be a complete PITA to get through shared holes. Those of you who've had to do it with Kevlar on tennis rackets will know what I mean - it's like trying to play pool with a piece of string.
