Lee Chong Wei will be dishmished from world no. 1 for almost 4 years and replaced by Lin Dan.
According to the bwf rangking on 31 may 2012, the gap between them is only 500 points, but last year Chong Wei win Indonesia SS Premier and have responsibility to defend his title to avoid losing points.
In fact that he is not play in Indonesia, even if Lin Dan also doesn't appear.
So it can be good or bad for him......

I think he is more interested in the Olympics now.
Losing #1 position is no big deal since he held it for so long already.

    update:
Now, Lee Chong Wei points is 95198,7300 Lin Dan is 94693.4114
on next three ranking after Indonesia SS premier,
Chong Wei 11.000 point of winning Indonesia SS premier will replaced by 7700
he will lose 3300 point to 91898,7300 and Lin Dan will not lose any points.
so, the final result points is 91898,7300 for Chong Wei and 94693.4114 for Lin Dan.
remember on next three ranking in 21 june 2012

i think it's mentally bad for him because he was already no. 1 for long time.
but, fortunatelly he still no. 1 seed in olympic and at least didn't play again Lin Dan (2) or Chen Long (3), two player that beat him last year until Final. in fact that Chen Long will battle against Lin Dan in semifinal...

I am quite sure LCW's record of the longest-running WR#1 will remain unbroken for years. Don't believe Lin Dan can break it, probably too late to do so, he may not hang around long enough nor be motivated to do so, his planned retirement in the cards.

How do you know this? 3rd and 4th seeds are randomly drawn into halves, cmiiw.

And LD will in fact lose points from his Singapore Open last year, but he'd still be higher than LCW.

If Chen long meets Lin Dan in the semi final, it will be just a friendly game,

obviously Lin Dan will have the upper hand.

On the other half if lcw meets Chen Jin it's gonna be a tough battle for him.

If he wins he will be half dead.

Li yongbo has strategized very carefully

and either way whoever turns out in semi final is dead meat.

If Chen Jin didn't qualify in his ranking points,

Lin Dan will have to battle for himself to reach the final

whereas Chen long will be on lcw's half.

    No? Yes?

the seeding will be based on the lists published on 3/5/2012.
LCW will be No 1 seed in the top half and LD in the bottom half as second seed.
CL (3rd) and CJ (4th) will draw lot to determine which half they will be in.

Thanks Alan, so LCW as 1st seed will not change even if his WR slips to no.2?
