And so, Brice braces himself for game 3 and looks for Lever(dez)age from the crowd, while Anand prays for more Pawar!

Cordon's OUT...!!

It's not easy to upset a Malaysian player unless you are a powerhouse
That goes to show Kevin Cordon is not a champion material. He can cause upset but he cannot keep that winning performance consistent.
Well done to the Malaysian. To be honest, Malaysian players are trained in a way so that other nations find it really difficult/impossible to actually beat them except for the traditional powerhouse. I think it's the mental block that's holding them back.
You see Indian, European rookies upseting big Chinese or Korean players. But i seldom see them doing the same for Malaysians..
That's something special about Malaysian badminton

Young Rhustavito took out Qiao Bin in easy, straight games. What a shame; I used to think QB had some potential, but this is depressing. Kudos to the young INA lad, however!
Another Chinese journeyman, Chen Yuekun is on court just now. Huge natural talent, but something missing or something else...

Despite the presence of MANY INA players in the Thailand GPG, I don't think INA will win any of the title. If lucky, we would only expect one or two SF spot
It's good to see Shesar Hiren Rhustavito (he's just 18) beating Qiao Bin. Remember, Qiao did beat Hsu Jen Hao and Viktor Axelsen in the China SSP 2011. Let's see if he can beat Alamsyah Yunus [7].
The other youngsters: Evert Sukamta and Andre Marteen lost as expected. Wisnu Yuli Prasetyo once again wasted a huge lead at 15-9 in the rubber-set and lost to Sai Praneeth B. , after having a match pt in the second set. The 2 club-players: Alrie Guna Dharma and Adi Pratama also lost. The remaining INA player left in the MS R64 is Riyanto Subagja. I don't expect him to beat Wei Nan.
Other matches for today:
XD R32 - the Pelatnas pairs are handed tough opponents to start with and it will be very difficult for them to progress
Kang Ji Wook/Lee So Hee vs Lukhi Apri Nugroho/Annisa Saufika
Maneepong Jongjit/Savitree Amitrapai [3] vs Fran Kurniawan/Shendy Puspa Irawati
Riky Widianto/Richi Dili Puspita [8] vs Tao Jiaming/Xia Huan
Alfian Eko Prasetya/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja vs Liao Min Chun/Chen Hsiao Huan
Kim Dae Eun/Ko A Ra vs Irfan Fadhilah/Wenni Anggraini [7]
Tri Kusharjanto/Vita Marissa vs Tan Aik Quan/Lai Pei Jing
Putra Eka Rhoma/Rizki Amelia Pradipta vs Danny Bawa Chrisnanta/Vanessa Neo Yu Yan [4]
Beryno Wong/Soong Fie Cho vs Adi Pratama/Nadya Melati
Hafiz Faisal/Putra Eka Rhoma vs Sudket Prapakamol/Saralee Thoungthongkam [2]
WS R32 - both INA players will be eliminated
Han Li vs Hera Desi
Belaetrix Manuputty vs Wang Lin
MS R16 (to be played later tonight) - both Sony and Alam should progress to R16.
Sony Dwi Kuncoro vs Kuan Beng Hong
