Many INA players involved in the Qualifying Rounds and I am interested in some matches: MSQ Evert Sukamta vs Shesar Hiren Rhustavito - if Vito can win this one, it will signal some progress for him and no progress for Evert. Sai Praneeth B. vs Andre Kurniawan Tedjono - the Indian player has the edge as Andre usually faces problems against Asian opponents in Asian tourneys. Anand Pawar vs Sony Dwi Kuncoro - 2 tourneys and 2 Finals including a title for Sony in the past 2 GPG events. I think he can qualify to the Main Draw. WSQ Lindaweni Fanetri vs Salakjit Ponsana - a tough opener for Lindaweni but if she can negotiate this one, I think she can progress to the Main Draw. Xing Aiying [3] vs Renna Suwarno - Xing has the edge. Febby Angguni vs Chen Jiayuan - Febby might be a serial Sirnas winner, but, I don't think she can beat the Singaporean player. Busanan Ongbumrungpan vs Belaetrix Manuputty [4] - I don't think Bella can win this one, even in front of the home crowd. Maziyyah Nadhir vs Lianne Tan - the Belgian has the edge. Sashina Vignes Waran vs Aprilia Yuswandari [2] - looking at the Qualifying Draw, April has a chance to qualify. MDQ - my favorite event and many of the pairs featured in the Qualifying Draws are in my close-watch list. The Pelatnas pairs: Ade Yusuf Santoso/Wahyu Nayaka A.P. and Rahmat Adianto/Berry Angriawan [3] should advance to the Main Draw, which will give them valuable pts. Chooi Kah Ming/Ow Yao Han vs Edi Subaktiar/Arya Maulana Aldiartama - a tough match for Edi/Arya and they should treat this as a learning experience in preparation for AJC. Ronald Alexander/Selvanus Geh vs Robert Blair/Tan Bin Shen - it will be a great upset if the AJC & WJC 2011 Bronze-Medallist can beat the veteran scratch pair. Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Rafiddias Akhdan Nugroho vs Hantoro/Arsya Isnanu Ardi Putra - Kevin/Rafi is my new favorite pair, with 3 titles in a row in the past 1 month. This match is a repeat of Sirnas Jakarta & last Saturday's Candra Wijaya MD Badminton Championships U-19 Finals (both won by Kevin/Rafi). It should be Kevin/Rafi's match to lose. I would like to see how Kevin/Rafi fare against either Ronald/Selvanus or Blair/Tan. WDQ Likely qualifiers: Melvira Oklamona/Khaeriah Rosmini, Febriani Endar Kusumawati/Ristya Ayu Nugraheny, and Pia Zebadiah Bernadeth/Rizky Amelia Pradipta [2]. XDQ Edi Subaktiar/Melati Daeva Oktaviani, INA's main hope in the AJC at the end of June are promoted to the Main Draw. Ditto for Adi Pratama/Nadya Melati. Markis Kido/Pia Zebadiah Bernadeth and Alfian Eko Prasetya/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja should also qualify. The last spot for the Main Draw will be a contest between 2 newly formed Pelatnas pairs: Lukhi Apri Nugroho/Annisa Saufika vs Muhd Rizky Delynugraha/Sri Wulan Sari - Lukhi/Annisa have impressed in their debut performance last week in Thailand. I would like to see them progressing to the Main Draw.
Lady Pi withdrawn so Firda got promoted to MD but she has to face WYH in R1 Cai Yun/Fu Haifeng also withdrawn Cai Yun injured.....
And they're off...Mainly INA playing duking it out with the exception of Salakjit, who trails Linda 9-11, and XAY, who leads Suwamo (who??) 13-9
Wow. Finally "THE TOURNAMENT" has begun. I am an Indian but to me the INA SS is the best tournament for the badminton. See the energy, the ambience and the competition. Will follow religiously. Off to ts.com now.
Yup, KOMPAS.com special coverage stated Cai Yun is injured => http://lipsus.kompas.com/djarumindonesiaopen2012/read/2012/06/11/21084362/Cai.YunFu.Haifeng.Mundur
Sony is moving very well, but his shot selection is daffy, and he looks a bit loose with his strokemaking... Still hungover? Meanwhile Pawar leads 11-5
