BF Conference at Canadian Open
Hey BF'ers, how about having a brief conference after the Canadian Open being held at the Guildford Rec Center September 2 - 6.
A suggestion may be after the finals or semifinals on the Saturday/Friday night for buffet dinner at the Oriental Buffet?
A few items to discuss for the agenda:
1. Assistance for Traum to set up his fun tournament.
2. Some proceeds from fun tournaments or other fund raisers to financially assist Kwun with the Forum.
3. Arrange for local scheduled BF fun nights.

good question...
I saw a poster stuck on the VRC bulletin board and there was no mention of price or ticket places. I would assume though, badminton bc, or at guildford rec center for purchases.

I think I can go on either 2nd, 3rd, or 6th.
Just post the exact date and time. Thank you.

Devoting a portion of the revenue from the BC/BF tournament back to the site/forum is what I have in mind as well. But I dunno what would be a good balance between showing our appreciation towards kwun for setting up this wonderful site, and coming up with enough prices (championship and draw) to keep everyone happy. Getting together to discuss the details would make life a lot easier for me.

guys, i am speechless and in tears...
i am already very grateful to have friends like you guys. we have never met and you guys are willing to devote some tournament earning towards BC/BF. i think the thought counts much more than any monetary value.
Traum, i suggest you should not have BC/BF in mind when you plan your tournament. instead, use the appropriate amount of money and make it a successful tournament. a tournament takes a lot of work and the last thing you should be worry about is to save up some money for BC/BF. BC/BF isn't gonna go bankrupt anytime soon.

Count me in somehow. I will be travelling back from Victoria on Friday evening but probably could spare some time (a couple of hours) during Sat or Sun to meet. Don't think I would have time to take in any of the action.
As for tickets, just show up at Guildford Centre and you pay at the door. I think there was a crowd during the weekends and hardly any body at all during the weekdays.
For those interested, you can volunteer to be line judges. Check out www.badmintonbc.com for more details. I think Timeless was one last year.

How about Friday Night? The semis- start late in the afternoon and likely winds down around 7 - 8 pm. I've a wedding dinner to attend on Saturday night so would have to leave immediately after the finals. We can then make a plan for a place to gather later on.
Let's arrange for a way for us to identify each other. Anyone have ideas - wear a carnation? Armband? BF T-shirt? Or we can choose to congregate around the stairwell (they are obvious) at a particular time.
Or we can print out a BF logo, then pin it to our t-shirts?Last edited by badrad; 09-02-2003 at 02:21 AM.
