Hi There... I am looking to buy a new racket to improve my game.

Here are few details of what i am looking for:

    I mainly play doubles.
Usually prefer playing close to net.
    Difficult in long clear shots.
    Play twice a week.
In between starter and intermediate level player :)
    Budget will be around £70-£100

Presently using Carlton power trail viper and i feel it lacks control.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've never used a Vapour Trail Viper, but I'm a fan of Carltons and they've all preformed good for me :) Would love to add a VT VIper to the collection one day!

Would you consider a Vapour Trail S-Lite? It's got nice swing speed and I feel it's darn good for netplay. At 3U and being rather flexible it's a good racket for casual doubles play. I've found it satisfying.

    Wrote a short review here.

Alternatively, you might want to spring for a Yonex Ti-10 - also head light but a little more stiff than the S-Lite to generate more power with your smashes from the back. I've not used one so I can't say very much.

    Hope this helps!

Is Yonex Ti10 still available ? i tried searching on internet but its not available on main retailers. One of my friends suggested Arcsaber 7, will it suit my requirements.

That's a good suggestion too. I think it falls within the same price range as the Ti-10. Nice color too - sliver and all.

i have a vapour trail vanquish and it works great for me in doubles. it's a big head light but when i hold then handle toward the butt when i smash i am able to get some decent pace on the shuttle. yet when i choke the handle on the cone it allows me to place decent net shots. :)
