    Question bg66um with braiding

Hi bc.Just wanted some advice on string choice. I have been using bg66um for a few months now and finding it hard to tumble to shuttle. My question is this. Is there a similar string to bg66um that gives high accuracy and is braided for tumbling and slices?

It doesn't have to be braided but easier to tumble shuttle with or should I just persevere and practice?

The new Nanogy 99 is marketed to be control-oriented. It's got a rougher surface (forgot the exact term Yonex calls it) that increases contact time with the shuttle. Might want to give it a shot.

For Yonex strings, there is no exact alternative.

The closest string is NBG99, rough surface and good for tumbling and slices but the thickness is greater thus repulsion is less than 66UM. Still a decent and repulsive string though.

You could try APACS Lurid Power - it's 0.65 mm, like 66U, and has a pretty grippy surface.

Victor NS660Ti might be another choice. it loses tension faster than BG66UM though so you might want to string it at higher tension.

    Thanks for your inputs guys.

Apacs or the Victor strings aren't sold here in the UK so will be too costly to get in and make a restring the otherside of 20. Typical of good ol blighty.

Just out of interest what are your strings of choice?

I think I have a set of NS660 in black if you are interested in trying it.

I currently use VS850 on most of my rackets but have NS880ZTI on my BS12.

You might also consider Ashaway Powergut 66.

One concern is the availability of NS660 in the UK. If I like thie string then I will have to import which will bump up the price.

I have just looked through the Victor 2012 catalogue and came across the VS650 which seems to have similar characteristics to bg66um. Is it rougher and what is the durability like?
