black shirt dude's footwork and court coverage is (being polite) quite poor and technique on overhead also needs work. On nets and pushes he doesn't use his reach very well.

orange shirt dude's ready stance is far too much sideways. He does it both ways as well, but it should be much more square on.

drop shot technique (1:17) needs some work. seems to hit too late.

racket preparation on overheads - he holds the racket very high for overheads - this makes his action quite big/slow because there is a large(r) distance to pull racket behind head on the pull-back.

both players very inconsistent, and should play a lot more nets

finalist and semi finalist.......no disrespect meant to the players but they look distinctly average.....no consistency in either of their games and there footwork like said above is poor.

    Their Movement too low....
Not fast enough....for single player needs fast movement....
Get back to the centre of the court before your opponent return your shuttlecock back...

My opinion & suggestion- Try to get back to the centre of the court as fast as possible....get back to your position when the shuttlecock still flying high in the air....but not get back to your position when your opponent return the shuttle. train your speed up and more training to your footwork....keep it up guys...;)

Aside from footwork, this is probably the most important aspect of modern game. A good serve will put the opponent on the defensive right off the bat.
Taylor (assumption based on skin tone) needs to work on his serving. The flick serve in the beginning was way too short and his low serves are too loose on the net.
Ameer at the provincial level, shouldn't be serving forehand at all. I'd take a bad backhand serve over a good forehand serve any day (especially in practice).
They both need to drill their backhand serve every chance they get.

Not gonna mention what others have already. I agree with the things mentioned.

Ameer needs to work on his agility and flexibility. His movement seems stiff and awkward (especially in defense). This may be due to his size but if he wants to compete in an elite level, he needs to get more agile and flexible.

Frankly, they look average. Their technique and consistency definitely needs work.

Don't know what the purpose of this post is? Both players would get beaten u16s round where I am and they/I would no doubt get spanked by some u14 Chinese kids.

    so what?

Wow... if those are your provincial level players, then Ontario badminton is in deep doo-doo.

From video evidence, there is no way the dude in the black shirt is a provincial level player. Even club level players would beat him.
