this is the latest as of 21 June 2012, 9:11am (China time).

LYB was supposed to submit the names to China's State General Administration of Sports on 20 June 2012. But he couldn't do it on time. He said he needed more time.

On 20 June, LYB leading a team of 80 people is now in Qingdao for closed door pre-Olympic training. The training will end on 20 July. He says the decision will be decided whilst they are in Qingdao. He does not know when that decision will be announced.

    Separately, BWF says this:

"Withdrawals and reserves replacements are however possible until 20 July 2012. The live draw ceremony will be held on 23 July 2012 in London."

Based on the above post, does it mean even if Mr. Li Yong Bo submitted say : WYH, WX and WSX in the next few days, he could still replace either one of them with LXR before 20 July 2012?

He is not doing the players a favour

The way he is acting is demoralising and disturbing the minds of the WS players even Wang Yihan no matter how many times he repeatedly said her position is locked in.

Boy...this man is messing up big time for China WS.

Might as well drop her rather than giving her a 50-50 life line...

This is not good and the stress may lead to cancer. If I were her, I will go up to MR. Li Yong Bo and ask straight into his face :
Are you fcuking gonna pick me or I am gong home.

Do not be surprised ...there's a chance Li Yongbo will go for this combination:

WSX - WYH - LXR considering WX's super instability.

WYH - WX - WYH could be possible assuming LYB takes Zhang Ning's comment about LXR's inexperienced in major tourneys.

If he ever choose WX - WSX - LXR, I will quit watching badminton and there goes China's gold

True, just ask him to give the ultimatum.

If I were WSX, I knew my chances are near zero and by keeping me here will disturb the rest of my teammates' mental preparation. I would rather go home.

LYB doesn't realise what kind of impact will have on all the CHN WS players mentally if he suddenly makes a last minute change before the 23rd July.

His paranoia and obsession with the gold will destroy the China's gold prospect in WS.

The impact and things that will play in their respective minds when LYB makes a sudden change:

WYH : This coach really has no faith in any of us...jeez. I have to step up my game from now on then (pressure builds)

WX : Now i am feeling super nervous, it's my last chance to shine or i will fade forever

LXR or WSX : ***expectation and pressure soaring skyhigh...what if I dont deliver...will i get kicked out of the team after the OG.

I believe LYB's agony and pressure are no worse than the girls, even though he makes his decision after consultations with the coaches, trainers and support staff(eg sport psychologist). Should things go right, all praise and he shares the credit with everyone and the girls get the medals and rewards as well. However, should things go wrong, all accusing fingers will point at him, they will say the ultimate decision is his, who will want to share the blame with him.

Looking back,if not for LXR's sudden rise, his decision is made by itself,no need for him to do anything. Actually, the headaches he is getting is a luxury not enjoyed by anyone else who can only envy him.:D

My vote is unequivocal : WYH + WX + LXR. The inexperienced one LXR may be so motivated as to rise above herself during the OG,it often happens. Much as I feel for WSX,her style of play and tactical weakness make me lose heart in her until such time she overcomes it. On the other hand,if given a new lease of life,WSX may rise to the occasion, still my bet is on LXR who I believe is more feared by her non-CHN opponents.

Non-CHN players will be somewhat heartened by Saina's defeat of LXR and I'm sure they will be analyzing tapes on how she did it.

But it's got to be WYH, WX and LXR. Can't see LYB sticking his neck out for WSX, otherwise it'd be his own neck on the chopping block

all 1st timers in an Olympic event...

i think a better question should be "Which CHN WS player can LYB ill afford not to include to go to the Olympics?"..
