Which Yonex string should I use on my VT70 (including color preferences)?

I would prefer durable, some repulsion and HQ strings; since I have a tendency of mishitting. My retailers recommended Yonex BG70.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    If you want durable strings, look at 0.70/0.69mm strings: BG65, BG65Ti, BG70Pro, NBG95, NBG99.

All of those strings will not have the same repulsion as thinner strings like BG66UM or NBG98. But NBG95 and 99 have better repulsion than the rest of the pack.

I don't know what you mean by "HQ". IMO they are all decent strings. If you refer to the price of the strings then here's the order (high to low) NBG99>NBG95>BG70pro>BG65Ti=BG65.

BG65 has soft feel and high durability.
BG65Ti is hard feeling and is best for heavy bombers.
    BG70 keeps tension well.
    NBG95 has the best power.
    NBG99 has good repulsion, control.

I would also like to say if you mishit a lot you are probably still learning. IMO the choice of strings at this stage is much less important than getting your timing and strokes right

I'm thinking of using BG80's, however, will the quality of the strings be wasted if I string at 20 lbs. tension?

You should use BG65. It's one of the best all around strings. You really can't go wrong with it and it will last you a while. When you start getting more advanced, then you can look at higher end strings since right now, you will probably not be able to enjoy BG80 as much as you would like.

I don't like BG80 when playing with plastic shuttles. With feather shuttles it's a different story though.

Do you reckon BG70P's are > or < BG65? Out of the two strings, which one has more repulsion or power?

I much prefer BG65 to BG70, however it is personal opinion.

Technically, the BG70 should have a little better repulsion, however I have not found so when I used it.

Hm...BG66 Sharp is a little less durable, yet more power and control. Do you think it'll be suitable for my level or should I stick with the 65/70's?

I think I will purchase BG65 TI and then when I improve my technique, switch to a more repulsive string. Thanks yan.v!

if you can manage to get zymax 67, it'll practically last forever and never lose tension :)

BG65 Ti is a bit more repulsive than the BG65, so hopefully you will like it.

ZyMax strings are also excellent, I love them! As visor said, ZM67 is pretty durable and ZM70 is even more.

I would prefer ZyMax 67's, however, my retailer doesn't carry them. The racket includes stringing, so for now, I'll use BG65 Ti!

ashaway microlegend xl at 0.73mm, and i think there's another ashaway string at 0.75mm, thickest i've seen. the XL only comes in a three color weave, red/white/blue, so you'll have to use a black stencil and paint it all black, but the string is good, and great with power.

only when talking about strings where being repulsive is a positive thing, lol.
