My opinion: Each of this competition is quite different in their own way and characteristics. Individual event - Olympics, World Chanpionship; follow by major tournaments Team event - Thomas or Uber Cup
Is BWF planning any team events for the Olympics? . I don't think so, because we already have; * the Thomas Cup, * the Uber Cup, and * the Sudirman Cup .
Mixed Badminton Team Competition at the Olympics? . Now that you have mentioned it, perhaps BWF can hold a competition like our Australian Tennis tournament, the Hopman Cup. Check out the Hopman Cup format at this link; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyundai_Hopman_Cup .
I would say the Olympics is the Grandest by most people's definition and perception of Grand, in my opinion. Since we're talking about mix match tournaments, I would like to see a tournament where you have 3 men and 3 women have to play 2 matches of MS, MD, WS, WD and one match of MX ... the catch is that each person on the team has to play twice.
