BS FINAL
Pannawit Thongnuam [9] vs Khosit Phepradab [2] - Khosit to take the title, after Sitthikom's withdrawal yesterday.
GS FINAL
Setyana Mapasa [3] vs Hanna Ramadini [2] - the ideal Final between INA's best GS players. Hanna has the edge.
BD FINAL
Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Rafiddias Akhdan Nugroho [6] vs Hafiz Faisal/Putra Eka Rhoma [5] - if Kevin/Rafi can repeat their performance at the Sirnas Jakarta, they will surely be a hot contender for the third spot in WJC.
GD FINAL
Miyuki Kato/Ami Ueno vs Melati Daeva Oktaviani/Rosyita Eka Putri Sari - the only Final featuring INA vs foreign opponent. Melati/Rosyita to take the title.
XD FINAL
Edi Subaktiar/Rosyita Eka Putri Sari vs Tedi Supriadi/Della Augustia Surya - Edi/Melati should take their third international title this year against their team-mates.

Sigh...too bad Kevin/Rafi failed to beat Hafiz Faisal/Putra Eka Rhoma again. Nevertheless, this shows that our 3 strongest BD pairs are capable of beating each other! Hafiz/Putra were unlucky to lose to the Japanese pair last week, despite having 2 match pts! This is also their 2nd international titles, after the Australian Junior 2012.
Edi Subaktiar/Melati Daeva Oktaviani also win their 3rd international titles this year, after the Dutch Junior and Banuinvest International 2012. Plus the 2 Sirnas titles (Jakarta and Bandung). That confirms that they are INA's best hope for an XD medal in the WJC.
Melati Daeva Oktaviani/Rosyita Eka Putri Sari also won their 2nd international titles this year, after the German Junior. Plus the Pegadaian Walikota Surabaya Cup.
Setyana Mapasa also surprised us by beating Hanna Ramadini in 3 tight-sets: 21-16, 19-21, 21-19.
The only title that went to foreign players is the BS title as Khosit Phetprabad beat his team-mate.
I think the juniors will have at least 1 month of rest after the long and hectic schedule since end of May. Let's see if the major clubs will send their player to the Singapore International Series (14-18 Aug) and the Vietnam Open GP (21-26 Aug).
They should be competing in the Flypower Indonesia Junior International (18-23 Sep) and the INA Open GPG (25-30 Sep). The other 2 junior events held in early Sep: India International Junior Badminton Championships (05-09 Sep) and the Malaysian International Youth U-19 (11-16 Sep) are also good options.
WJC will be from 25 Oct-3 Nov.

The game between Kevin-Rafi vs. Hafiz-Putra was full of errors... Kevin even hit a very 'out' shuttle at 20-21, resulting in them losing the 1st game. The 2nd game was worse, not good to watch... Hafiz-Putra hit 2 shuttles in the net in a 2 minute span while Rafi made numerous unforced errors all throughout game 2.
Setyana was suffering from a knee injury before and during the match, Hanna should have just moved her around, but somehow did not execute well. Hanna cried after the match disgusted with her own play, Setyana cried in pain during the last few points and fell after the match ended. Her coaches and the medic team surrounded her... Setyana could not even reach the top podium without Hanna helping her...
Good sportsmanship...
The Melati-Rosyita win was pure execution. The Japanese pair (apparently part of some university team) seem to be happy just being in the final. They could not return 90% of Rosyita's smash. Rosyita is turning up to be 'Finarsih Junior', in honor of her first coach. Experts observed that her offensive smashes mirror Finarsih's..... even the way she served mirror Finarsih...
The 2 GD finalists were apparently friendly to each other. Melati was seen signaling to the Japanese girls that she wants to exchange shirts with them during the medal ceremony. 10 minutes after the ceremony, they did so. The remaining Japanese team and the Djarum girls took photos together.
The scene is a fresh reminder for me of how sports can forge bond and friendship between 2 camps that don't even share a common language. All actions were the results of hand signals and gestures.

That's the Japanese girl, Endo-san (I think), squating to the left of Melati (in the front)Last edited by Krisna; 07-14-2012 at 01:54 PM.
