Well well, until there was a post in the Tangkas-Specs Junior Open thread, I didn't know that there's a junior event held here in Hong Kong at the Ma On Shan Sports Complex! I will try to see if I can make it to watch the event sometime today and tomorrow. At the moment, they are still playing in the Team Championships till tomorrow (14 July). MAS fields its BJSS players like Soo Teck Zhi, Lim Chi Wing, and Phuah Cheng Wei. INA fields most of the club players who are not competing in the Tangkas Specs Junior Open. This is the website of the tourney: http://asbd2012.hkssf-hk.org.hk/
I went to meet the team this morning and managed to talk to some of the players and Luluk Hadiyanto, one of the coach assigned to the team. According to Luluk, Setyaldi Putra Wibowo is quite promising.
Team MAS is strong in BS and BD as they are bringing the 2 BD pairs that dominate the Asean School Games 2012 held in Surabaya last week: Woon Man Chun/Mohd Amzzar Zainudin (who beat Rizko Azuro/Wildan Atmaja in the first-round of the individual event and the eventual Gold-Medallist) and Chua Kek Wei/Ong Yew Sin. They also have Soo Teck Zhi (who beat Rifan Fauzi Ivanudin and the eventual Gold-Medallist) in BS. Team HKG is similarly competing for the Gold Medals in BS & BD in the home event. Angus Ng Ka Long is a familiar name in the Junior circuit and he will be a hot contender, after finishing as Quarter-Finalist in the BS of AJC 2012 last week and Bronze-Medallist in the BD. This time, he is partnering a different boy, Bryan Leung Yam Wah. Ng/Leung already beat INA's Rizko Azuro/Wildan Atmaja, while Ng himself also beat Rifan in the Team Event.
Team THA has the following members from the AJC 2012: Tossapol Thawornwong (losing to Ng Ka Long in R32 of AJC). Maetanee Phattanaphitoon (losing to Sun Yu in R16 of AJC) Narissapat Lam/Maetanee Phattanaphitoon (losing to Kim Ji Won/Chae Yoo Jung in R16 of AJC). They will be strong contenders in the GS and GD events.
I didn't go to the Sports Complex today as I was busy. My sms to Luluk was also not replied. So, I am also waiting for results update.

This is a report on Narissapat Lam (her Chinese name is 林颖陶) in the local newspaper. She is indeed a Thai-Chinese, with Chinese dad (surname is Lam), who's in town to watch her daughter play. The report mentioned her victory over the WR7 Chinese pair (Tang Jinhua/Xia Huan) in the SCG Thailand Open GPG (partnering Saralee Thoungthongkam), where they clinched gold medal. She's yet another recent product of Thailand's never-ending supply of promising young players. I reckon she will probably clinch gold in the GD event with her partner at the AJC 2012.
