If you are interested in joining the UW Badminton Club this Fall, please attend the organizational meeting in order to sign-up. You must have a valid Campus Recreation pass or be a full-time student at the university to qualify for the $15 membership fee. This fee will allow you to participate in the sessions which are 4 times a week, and also allow you to play in several of the tournaments for free or discounted price. You'll also have perks for many other things too!

If you're interested in helping out with the club, please attend our Executive Meeting.

    Org Meeting:
    Monday, Sept 8th, 2003 @ 5:30-6:30pm - MC 2066

    Exec Meeting:
    Tuesday, Sept 9th, 2003 @ 6:30-8:00pm - CIF Studio

    First Session:
    Tuesday, Sept 9th, 2003 @ 8:30-11:30pm - CIF Main Gym

    Regular Sessions @ CIF:
    Tuesday @ 8:30-11:30pm
    Wednesday @ 8:30-11:30pm
    Friday @ 6:30-9:30pm
    Saturday @ 12:30-4:30pm

Just a reminder that the first week of sign-up is ALWAYS very packed and registration fills up very quickly! We will definitely hit the maximum capacity within the first two weeks, so if you'd like to join the club make sure you come to the Organizational meeting to get a spot! Sessions will generally die down after the first 2-3 weeks of classes when people start to realize there's something called school. :D

Just want to add that the UW badminton club is one of the best i've seen. You usually get to play someone very close to your own skill level, you can choose between singles and doubles (if you ask), and the membership is extremely inexpensive given what you are getting.

If you live anywhere near K/W you're probably already a member so i'm sure there's no need to sell the club more.

For people in Toronto, you can come by UofT's badminton club. It's $8 per session plus $10 guest fee if you don't have membership at the AC.

Is that downtown U of T? I know there's one at the Mississauga U of T campus but I don't know if they play or not still. I know remember playing there once and I had to pay a brutal $8.25 since I'm not a student! I'm such a cheapo. :D

    CORRECTION AGAIN!

Disregard the location of the Organization Meeting and the Executive Meeting. The Campus Rec department is playing musical chairs with us so we don't know where we are.

To top it off, in the Campus Rec Guide, the e-mail address is wrong and it should be uwbc@watserv1.uwaterloo.ca.

I'll put a final update on the weekend when we know where the meetings are. But the first session is definitely on Tuesday so that's when you can sign up.

    FINAL UPDATE... I hope

This is what is written on the Campus Rec website, so this is what we're going to go with!

Organizational Meeting: Mon. Sept. 8, 5:30 pm, MC 4021
Executive Meeting: Tues. Sept. 9, 6:30-8:30 pm, CIF Studio
First Session: Tues. Sept. 9, 8:30-11:30 pm

    See you all there!

    that's cheaper than UofT ($63 a month!)
UW students have to play the $120 atheletics fee so i don't see why your friend would be exempt
