wich raquets are used by the worlds top pros? (Xia, Chen, Gade). Are there any sites? wich raquets are used by the worlds top pros? (Xia, Chen, Gade). Are there any sites providing such information?
yes there are sites... BF is that site. Do a search and you'll see it's discussed ever few months or so.
Rackets the pros are using in recent tournaments As said in the subject.. just curious of knowing whether the top pros are using AT 700 or MP 99 as suggested by Yonex or something else that they are used to (such as the famous but discontinued Ti-10) I've been checking up homepages about the matter but found out most of them are rather outdated, such as the one in bbeshop.com. It would be great if any of you can also post up a picture too!
Yonex contracted players and equipment Try the following to find out what they were contracted to use: Yonex Japan Website - sponsored players and equipment
Re: Yonex contracted players and equipment I'm not sure whether to trust this site. It seems to list the players with the yellow MP as MP-90 instead of MP-99 e.g. Candra & Sigit. It also lists Ra as using the MP-100 even though showing a photo of her with a yellow MP. Yes, I know it's Yonex's official page.
Re: Re: Yonex contracted players and equipment yeah i'd noticed the MP-99 in that pic and was like huh? but i'm guessing it's what they were contracted to use, which i'm guessing isn't always what they acually always use. anyone have any more info on this?
That's my point. Is the page telling us that Candra/Sigit and other sponsored players use JP versions?
Understand, and appreciate question, but Understand, site is aimed at Japanese market, where MP99 sells as MP90, so of course they will say they use MP90, anyway it is the same racquet just different name on shaft. Thanks.
i was wondering....a lot of players use Yonex rackets as their weapon of choice..but what model do they use? MP100, 99, AR700, Ti10, Iso Ti SP's? I see a lot of those yellow and black rackets (MP99) on televised matches...what do the others use?
String Choices After looking through the Yonex sponsored players list, I find it rather strange that most of the pros are choosing the supposedly lower grade BG-65 as their choice of string instead of the higher grades. Out of the 16 players listed there, only three Korean players use BG80. Everyone else either uses BG65 or BG65P. Any comments on this? -Rick
Re: String Choices I believe this been talked about in another old thread before. Personally, I think the main reason(s) are the following: 1. BG65 is know for its all around playability and most important durability. As we know, a lot of elites strung their rackets to fairly high tension (30+), therefore, a lot of higher grade (but lower durability, due to thin nature) string won't last long. Imagine a player has to change 5 rackets in a game, surely won't be a good image for Yonex, and not good for performance. 2. A lot of elites just stick with whatever they feel comfortable (get used to). If they using a string for yrs, they might not want to go for some high pricy newer model, and wasting time to adjust to it.
My understanding on the allure of BG65 is that it can retain durability and performance at high tensions (30lbs area) while the more expensive high-tech strings do not behave as designed at those tensions. Also, BG65 holds tension longer, correct?
