    tough one. LCW or LD?

LD is the easy pick. but LCW and MAS deserve to get their first ever Olympics gold.

Sorry to say LD might choke if he is not careful.

    Simon Santoso's time is up.

If Simon able to defeat LCW, then he might be able to, else R16 would be his achievement. But I vote for Lin Dan.

I would say Simon Santoso if he gets past Lee Chong Wei. But for now... I'll stick to Lee Chong Wei winning the gold. Lin Dan is gonna crack under pressure and fall.

    Lets be optimistic....

Definitely Lin Dan. The greatest badminton player of all time, no one in this time can touch him. There was hardly any time where Lee Chong Wei could beat him, most of the time it was Lin Dan who always had the control.

Lee Chong Wei had his chances and hopes... But after injuries, inconsistencies and difficulty adjusting to the mental game, hard to say if he can bring a surprise.

It's got to be Lin Dan. Plus a one match freebie given by CJ will help.

I am undecided between LD and CJ and to a lesser extent, CL. I think the champion will be those with 2 initials in their names, so LHI, NTM, JOJ, SWH and WWK is out.

But LD faces the majestic Taufik in the 2nd round ... Could go either way... since TH is retiring from his badminton career after this match and will go all out to win it.

    julianng,

i've much better idea to realize such betting instead of uncollectible satays... to give such bet some credibility and to make it possible to collect the loot (just borrow the term from a member here.. argh just forget his name) :D

i'm willing to make a bet with you... you hv Taufik while i hv Lin Dan for 100usd.... if they both ever have chance to meet each other

if you agree, the loser will make that donation to BadmintonCentral.com, either it's just a money donation or make some donation purchase from BC (need to mention this bet when making such donation to BC!) Thus BC will serve as the witness, clearing house and the beneficiary of this bet ;)

If you agree, pls let me know here. If so, it's our own honors witnessed by BC that we will deliver our betting commitment :D

    Awaiting your response!

ps. basically this betting offer is opened to any credible member here (a long enough member will have such credibility compared to the newbies, relatively speaking) in one-to-one, win-or-lose simple betting :p

    Cheers :)
