With your new, ahem, deep English accent, it should be pronounced closer to Less-ster (Leice-ster). Not Lester.

But indeed, the tube and rail stations are usually kept pretty clean. Unlike the graffity sprayed Paris Metro.

i thought and was pronouncing it "Lai-ces-ter", even thought it's "Lai-kes-ter", like Manchester..until i was told it's pronounced "lester/leice-ster"..

..today got to hang out w/ BoogieeigooB and did a quick tour of the London landmarks (yes, i did fall asleep during the tour for several minutes)..here are photos to share..

The last time I was back, was, err, practically every year actually. So I don't miss it ....... except the birds of Trafalgar Square and the old Malaysia Hall before it got relocated from Bryanston Square to Queensborough Terrace at Bayswater.

How do you get to go back so often?

Last time I was there was in 2005 and before that in 2000.

Let's see, the big change I noticed for 2005 was the oyster card. But it felt the same otherwise.

1st day: hanging out @ Leicester square, Chinatown, Brent (near place of stay), tube rides etc.

(a good example of how loud a blaring police siren sounds)

(watching a street performer)

2nd day : day tour

(driving thru London's mid-city/central London)
