I think she's a much more experienced commentator so you'd expect her to commentate on the Olympics. Plus Gail Emms really annoys me :L
maybe they want to follow their motto for this olympic 2012: inspire the young generation so they use new and young commentator instead of experienced commentator like Clark
gill clark is a fantastic commentator...perhaps the best badminton commentator...her knowledge of the game is vast...morten frost is a good commentator too
she is my fav commentator too... her commentary has technical analysis and depth ... it helps layman to gain a better and more hollistic understanding of the game...
every once in a blue moon she delivers something insightful but most of the time, her commentating is sensationalist and only insightful to someone who is completely new to the concept of badminton - this is classic GC commentary: "my goodness... how on EARTH did he get to that!??!?!" GC? no thanks. Morten Frost? now that's knowledgeable and insightful commentary.
I have no commentators, but it's nice. The umpire is mic'ed up clearly and you can even catch the players exchanging words to their partners and stuff too at times.
Gill Clark is commentating atm, here is the link to her. Although the game is very poor. http://www.sportlemon.tv/v-4/2/102/v-430209.html
Perhaps she has forsaken badminton, and has gone off to admire the huge gathering of hunks that have landed in her country .
That is the difference between a professional commentator and a professional coach - the thought process is different.
She's the best commentator in badminton atm She didn't commentate in 2008 Beijing as well. Perhaps something to do with another one of Olympic's tight regulations for commentary?
Sometimes when a player makes an incredible recovery, it is an appropriate comment. I don't understand what is the issue you find with that. Morton Frost, being a coach would have said slow footwork or wrong positioning for the same situation.
