Now is as good a time as ever will be, to introduce Henri Hurskainen formally to the BC fraternity.

    Born in: Emmaboda, Sweden.
Date of birth: September 13, 1986

    Style: Left handed

Henri actually caught the eye of many people when he played against Lin Dan at the WC 2010. Although he came out second-best in that encounter, he displayed glimpses of promise that he would actually fulfill spectacularly in 2012.

Yes, henri. You beat me to it, jason. I actually wanted to start this thread. But kudos anyway.

Henri, a lefthander with attacking instincts that made Kevin Cordon woke up in game 1. I hope his country and coaching infrastructure do well to make him an upcoming player to watch out for.

The other player I noticed recently is Belgian Yuhan Tan.

    You mean Sheamus O'Shaunessy?

Judge for yourself, but I think he looks more like a young Conan O'Brien.

Either way, he's a good player and has my respect. :)

Here's some words from Rajiv Ouseph:

    http://www.badmintonengland.co.uk/show_news.asp?section=13&sectionTitle=News&itemid=4795
    30.07.12
Ouseph praises fans, Hurskainen wishes him luck
    Excerpts:

..."He came out quicker in the second set and I struggled to cope with his attack. Luckily he got tired and with the help of the crowd I came back.

"I just stuck with him and waited for my chances to come. When they came I took them."

...Comonwealth silver medallist Ouseph plays Hurskainen regularly in practice and the European Championships runner-up from Sweden said: "We are friends off court and we talk a little bit.

I saw him at the 2012 European championships in Karlskrona and wow at the way he played then, his defense was extraordinary and he was so strong mentally, fighting hard against players much higher ranked than him! A joy to watch as a swede.
Too bad could not keep up his European Championship form during the Olympics, they even showed his matches in Swedish television(Badminton! In Sweden!).

His latest result was a semi-final exit in Kharkow international a couple weeks ago, losing out to eventual winner, young Emil Holst from Denmark.
