Back when I first started playing badminton, there were many rackets that had fancy teardrop shaped heads like this: [IMG]

If I recall correctly, Carlton had a few in their Powerflo range (at least I think that was the name of the range). Rackets have since stopped this and generally either come in regular or iso. Even prince seemed to have stopped doing their Y joint axis racket shape. Has this change been due to changes in technology or regulation?

Probably changed more due to stringing cost :)

Honestly I think the Y-shape (that prince also abandoned) most likely is a better shape than the classic iso-head.. But as always in the end it comes down to commerical success and cost of production :)
