Keen to hear about people's experiences with the Victor Powerizer lead tape (LT-6). To those who have used it, do you find any difference in your racket swing speed and/or power?
I use other brand (simply because no local store here in my place sell this victor lead tape). In my experience, it depend on where you put it on the frame. Put it in 3 & 9 clock position to have better frame stability. Put it in 10 to 2 to have better power but sacrifice some accuracy. I can't feel any differences for <= 1 gram addition of lead tape, but 2 - 3 grams start to make a difference in both power and swing speed.
It should be easy to remove (if it use glue like other brand). I use babolat / technifibre product (actually it intended for tennis racket, but I cut it into smaller piece). Willing to use victor powerizer thats designed for badminton racket but very hard to find / buy here.
Most probably not (0.18 gram is too light). I think its better to use lead tape for tennis (usually 15 x 2 grams = 30 grams per box, or 18 x 1 gram).
any tip where to past the lead tape? the tennis one seems kinda thick for a baddy racket. do i have to past evenly on 4 sides of the head or just a blob at the top?
Not too thick if you apply it correctly, just try it. It depend on what you want to achieve. Place it on 12 o'clock position to have more power but sacrificing accuracy a bit. Place it on 3 and 9 o'clock to have stability + some power. Here are some pics from previous post (link)
you csn order the Victor tape from a Victor retailer. However, if the supplier is Victor Europe then they do not have the tape and are very unlikely to order it. I've no idea whether Victor Asia will offer a better option. Paul www.badminton-coach.co.uk
According to Squash Eric and Winston from MBS, Victor does no longer offer the Powerizers and has ceased the distribution worldwide. So either you find a shop that still has some old stock or you will have to go with good old lead tape instead.
