    With plastics
    1. I have to switch from long to short serves more to avoid bullet smashes
    2. clears are harder, don't really attempt cross court clears
    3. ironically smashes are harder though
    4. game is faster with less finesse
    5. rallies don't last as long.

and personally I find it harder to get into a rhythm. I'm much better with feathers often a 10 point difference. I can go from stroking cross court clears to struggling to get plastics to back on normal clears.

Suppose the good point playing with plastics though is it work on my weakness such as reaction speed.

Anybody else find they get better results with either plastics or feathers?

Oh this must be the first thread regarding this question :D

Almost everyone here in this forum feels the same. That is the reason why in almost no competition plastic shuttles are used.

    I agree with the OP.

With feathers...I get more control/finesse on my shots. Not so much with plastics. I can't even do a decent fake smash slice cross-court drop on plastics. Net play is also horrible compared to feathers. I generally play feathers with similarly skilled players.

When I play with my casual friends (lesser skilled)...it's plastics. Kinda levels the playing field a bit. I keep things simple and work on my footwork. No fancy shots. Definitely have to hussle (faster pace) a bit more as I find the plastics drops like a stone.
