BRL got the first question in about a website Thomas, When you go on trips, who washes your clothes? Do you give them to the hotel to clean? And how many pairs of badminton shoes do you take when going for tournaments? Strange questions, but I always wondered!
Cheung I can answer your weird questions. I notice alot of the players, bring old shirts when they go to the hot and humid countries for tournament and wear them during training. When the shirt is soak in sweat, they just throw it into the rubbish bin and wear another one. I notice a few of the Denmark team i.e. Peter Gade, Camilia doing that and a few from the England team doing that as well. As for shoes, I dunno.
Hey, maybe then they could donate T-shirts to BF members, instead! Or sell them as memorabilia during tournaments???
I forgotten who throw away a black thomas cup t-shirt though. Ya maybe they could sell them but it might seems strange. I don't know. Donate to BF members is a good idea.
If we are at a tournament in europe usually we don´t wash the clothes because we bring alot og t-shirts and shorts with us. But if we are on i trip to Asia for 2 or 3 weeks we go to the laundry in the city, because it´s much cheaper than the hotel. It cost about 5$ for 3 kg of clothes so it´s pretty cheap. When we go to asia i bring 3 pair of shoes and in Europe i bring 2 pairs. In Asia we sweat alot so the shoes get pretty wet, and we have to change during practice and sometimes even during the match. And yes it´s true that we sometimes throw our t-shirts away, because when they get a little old and they have been all sweaty many times you just can´t get them clean again. Lay
Actually...since someone's already mentioned sweating...I have always wondered why some people sweat much more than others (especially Asians like myself)...but that's not my question to Thomas. My question is whether Thomas AND Jonas are a 'heavy sweaters' (ie. do you guys go through just 1 shirt per game or more than 2-3??)! I apologise for the weird and private nature of the question.
Hey I´m probally one of them who sweat the most on the danish national traning. Jens Eriksen, Mathias Boe, Michael Lamp and me is the probally the most sweaty guys. When i practise here in denmark i use 2-3 t-shirts sometimes 4 if it is a little hot in the hall. When we practise in asia there is no point in changing that often because if you change everytime the t-shirt is weat we had to use 10 in just one practise pass. It is very normal to practise the last 30-45 minutes without a t-shirt because the t-shirt is very heavy to carry around. During a match i usually only change between 2. and 3. set, but if there is hot in the hall i also change between 1. and 2. Thomas
