Momota Kento is Japan's future. He always had the potential! Let's see if he does better than Zulfadli here.
Yeah, surprising that Kento defeated the more experience player like Tanongsak... Another seeded player tumbled at first round, Iskandar Zulkarnain beat Gurusaidutt in three games.
Okay, Zulfadli is out of my books now. He has already spent more than half a year on the senior circuit, and his results are no different from the bottom of the backup players. Tam Chun Hei was one of his opponents in the junior scene. While he has beaten Momota Kento numerous times back in junior, I think Kento who has improved much would beat him now too.
Zul is independent player, privately funded, so... the resources are coming from private sources, not taxpayers. Liew Daren(25), CWF(24) has have plenty of chances, and arent getting any younger. Let's see how Iskandar does in Vietnam, my expectations for Iskandar is higher, as he is 2 years senior to Zul and more talented.
MS R32 Nguyen Tien Minh [1] vs Riyanto Subagja - it will be a good result if Riyanto can push the home favorite to 3-sets. Alamsyah Yunus [4] vs Teng Shih Hua - Alam is hoped to progress to at least QF where he is likely to face Sony Dwi Kuncoro. Sony Dwi Kuncoro [5] vs Wan Chia Shin - the same goes for the resurgent Sony, who is hoping to reach top 15 by the end of the year. Panji Akbar Sudrajat vs H.S. Prannoy - the Indian is more experienced but I am hoping for a good performance from Panji. Shesar Hiren Rhustavito vs Takuma Ueda [6] - ditto for Vito. I don't think he can beat the sixth seed. Arief Gifar Ramadhan vs Wang Tzu Wei - Gifar lost to the Chinese-Taipei player in the AJC Team Championships 2012. Can he exact a revenge? If he can, that will mean some progress. Loh Wei Sheng vs Senatria Agus Setia Putra - I am not hoping much from the SGS player. Nguyen Hoang Nam vs Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka [2] - Hayom should aim for the title here. WS R32 Aprilia Yuswandari [8] vs Liang Xiaoyu - April probably can reach QF this week. Ngan Yi Cheung vs Hera Desi - if Hera Desi can win this match, she will face April for a place in the last 8. Maria Febe Kusumastuti [6] vs Tanvi Lad - Indian and Thai girls are increasingly getting more difficult to be beaten and I will expect the Indian girl to put up a fight to Febe. Sashina Vignes Waran vs Belaetrix Manuputty [7] - Bella should win this one. Adrianti Firdasari vs Yang Li Lian - ditto for Firda. Lindaweni Fanetri vs Xing Aiying [5] - a tough match for Lindaweni. I am not expecting much from her. MD R32 Mak Hee Chun/Teo Kok Siang vs Hafiz Faisal/Putra Eka Rhoma - the MAS pair to take this one. Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif/Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari [3] vs Andrei Adistia/Christopher Rusdianto - ditto for this match. Yohanes Rendy Sugiarto/Afiat Yuris Wirawan vs Liang Jui Wei/Liao Kuan Hao - I am afraid this year will be Rendy/Afiat's last year in Pelatnas if they cannot win this tourney. Their days are definitely numbered. Markis Kido/Alvent Yulianto Chandra [5] vs Chong Yee Han/Soo Teck Zhi - Kido/Alvent have an outside chance of winning the title here. Low Juan Shen/Tan Yip Juin vs Markus Fernaldi Gideon/Agripinna Prima Rahmanto Putra [7] - QF is the target for Markus/Agri where they are likely to face their compatriots Ulin/Ricky. Mohd Razif Abdul Latif/Zairul Hafiz Zainudin vs Muhd Ulinnuha/Ricky Karanda Suwardi [4] - Ulin/Ricky will be set a higher target...at least SF. XD R32 Fran Kurniawan/Shendy Puspa Irawati [3] vs Tan Wee Gleen/Chow Mei Kuan - it's time for Fran/Shendy to win a GP title. Riky Widianto/Richi Dili Puspita [7] vs Terry Teo Zhao Jiang/Dellis Yuliana - Riky/Richi are expected to reach QF this week. Putra Eka Rhoma/Rizki Amelia Pradipta vs Tai An Khang/Lee Meng Yean - not sure what to expect from this. The INA pair has a slight edge perhaps? Ong Jian Guo/Lim Yin Loo vs Irfan Fadhilah/Weni Anggraini [4] - ditto for Irfan/Weni Markis Kido/Pia Zebadiah Bernadeth vs Danny Bawa Chrisnanta/Vanessa Neo Yu Yan [2] - it will be a mini-upset if Kido/Pia can beat the second-seed.
Good that Alam defeated ex WJC Hong Ji Hoon. Meanwhile, Senatria who always only played on Sirnas (INA local tournament), surprisingly defeated more international exposured player: Suppanyu. Tommy/Hayom/Darren Liew lost to this THA MS once. So, it's a good result.Wisnu Yuli lost to Khosit, not a disaster, but his progress is slowing down.Anyway, the most question for me is, can SDK (#5), Hayom (#2), or Alam (#4) stop the top seed Nguyen Tien Min?
Seems Teo Kok Siang not yet back to his form after injury when he was with GWS. With MHC, he is shocked by defeat from INA youngster Hafiz Faisal/Putra Eka Rhoma.
I think the MHC/TWK combo was way better than with TKS. I don't believe that TKS is not back to form, he did pretty well earlier in the world, partnering Ong Jian Guo to beat Issara Bodin/Jongjit Maneepong and Goh Wei Shem to beat Guo Zhendong/Chai Biao. I just think that they have somewhat lost their AJC/WJC-winning chemistry and combo.

Another good result from INA young MD. Andrei Adistia/Christopher Rusdianto defeated Zakry/Fairuzizuan by 3 tight sets. 21-19 20-22 and 21-18!
Positive results from the INA MD pairs...in particular Hafiz Faisal/Putra Eka Rhoma, who's only 18 this year.
i think this MAS pair is just wasting their time competing in international tournament. should let younger pair to get more exposure.
