as above, i would like to compare MX80 and the Z-force, i heard a lot of people gave up their [3U]Z-force just because they can't handle the weight and stiffness of the racket, some even face shoulder or muscle injury/pain, i wonder if it happens to [3U]MX80 as well. On the other part, [4U]Z-force seems to be more user friendly to many mostly people who are not muscular like me:D(although sacrificed some power). Anyway, i wonder if somebody will provide some review based on the difference between Z-force and MX80 based on their stiffness and weight(energy requirement also!:p).

i believe it has more to do with the proper mechanics than having a plethora of muscles, LCW is cut, but skinny, yet a very powerful player. anyway, i believe the overall weight is very close but the mx80 is a bit lighter in my opinion. both rackets are stiff, but the mx80 is a bit more forgiving. the distribution of weight is a bit more noticeable on the Z because it's supposedly lighter, but feel heavier in a swing. the overall weight is heavier on the mx80 but the distribution of head heaviness is not as extreme so it feels a bit lighter in a swing. this is just me paying real close attention when hitting, but generally they both feel the same to me, hehe. :)

    i'm one :p

still love the immediacy and accuracy of it, but the super stiff shaft is very demanding of perfect technique all the time... something which i don't possess :p

eventually had to settle for mx70 and precision pro...

also have a 4u vtzf which i use for singles... too head heavy for fast doubles exchange but the shaft is definitely not as stiff as mx80... i would even say that it feels slightly less stiff than mx70 because of its heavier head that bends the shaft more

sad to hear that, i wonder if the 4u version of MX80 changes a lot. err...how about the comparison between [4U]MX80 and [3U]MX70, should be interesting :D

fwiw, my mx80 is borderline 4u at 85.1g dry, and my mx70 is 87.5g dry

I switched to MX80 (4U) from SW35(3U) and loved it untill I started getting shoulder pain. Now taking a few weeks break from badminton to recover from the shoulder injury. I am planning to switch to a med flex racket, perhaps an MX60 or ARC10.

I'd try the MX70 as well - better power/effort ratio than the 80. I prefer the 80 myself, but I like rackets that are hard work.

A racket that demands consistent good technique (but offers a lot of power in return).

oh i'm sure. i'm one of them. but i believe it's because my lack of proper training and not lack of muscle mass. :) but after training for about 3 months, i'm able to handle it again, and now i don't have any problems playing games with it.

3u but i think it has to do with my mechanics instead of the weight.

i considered myself muscular and bulky since i used to weight lift a lot in college with a football buddy of mine, american football by the way. so for badminton, i am really slow and not agile at all!!! :( so for the past year i've been trying to lift weights to tone instead of bulking up like a body builder, hehe.

and also i picked up cycling a bit over a year ago, so i've been doing a whole lot more cardio than when i was in college :)
