Kento Momota passes first hurdle, def. 2009 World Junior Champ, Tian Houwei with 2 close games, 24-22 / 21-19. Next, he most likely will take on another home player, Qiao Bin to determine main draw ticket.

I already gave up on him... :( He is without a single doubt by far the worst among the four elite backup players, and probably even worse than most of the backup too!

All 4 local qualifiers secure main draw ticket, Chen Yuekun-Zhou Wenlong-Qiao Bin-Gao Huan. How far can they go in this SS, first round, second round, quarterfinal?

i'm speechless when looking at his performance. he was given the privilege to spar with LCW for many years, but until now, his performance is not as expected.

BAM's gonna have another meeting on the 19th....whether they would consider CKB's wish to train under Hendrawan is a big uncertainty....worst, BAM maybe want to chuck him out....

We'll see if LCW's soft spot for this player can bring some luck...

liew daren loses the 2nd set by 17-21 although leading 12-6 & 14-9. let's c whether or not he has enough gas in his tank in the rubber set.

No surprise really. It's not the problem with the gas, it's the tank. Too small....just enough to run the engine for two sets :p

Wow, what a great comeback by Busanan, down 13-18 in decider she's catching up and finishes the match against Chen Xiaojia, 14-21 / 21-15 / 22-20.
