    Default the tension dilemma

    Hey guys,

actually I use Bg66UM at 28 X 30 lbs and I get more power from it than from the same spare racket at 25lbs. My smash were harder. What's the reason for this? Can anybody explain? Can it be true?

IME, the shorter a player's "zip zone" (the arc where his swing accelerates to full speed), the higher the tension required for optimum power, and vice-versa for slow swings and low tension, so what you describe seems completely reasonable.

    My two pence.

    Thanks Mark for your post.
I was not sure, because most people say higher tension increase control but not power. But lower tension feels for me not as powerful, very spongy and not comfortable. Now I have explaination for this.

after reading what Mark mentioned, i believe that it's still a general concept with other racket sports. unfortunately with badminton, the swing speed is so fast/quick, it applies differently, like what mark mentioned.
