I was wondering if I bought 2 sets of strings say one white and one red, would it be possible to give them to a stringer to string 1 colour on the horizontal and one on the vertical?
    Thanks

it's called hybrid stringing if these two strings are different. if they are the same string and just different color it's call stylish stringing, hehe. :)

It's definitely possible, just remind your stringer to do so. Although you may have to provide your own string
