Turns out to be an easy win for Edi Subaktiar/Arya Maulana Aldiartama [2] over the TPE pair in just 26 mins. They will likely face the MAS pair Dede Ryan Phillip/Marcel Simon for a place in the last 8.

As for Melati Daeva Oktaviani/Rosyita Eka Putri Sari [5/8], they will face Saki Hayata/Akane Watanabe also for a place in the last 8.

Alfian/Shella's route to a Gold Medal reads like this:
R16 vs Kasper Antonsen/Line Kjaersfeld [5/8] - best European U-19 XD pair
QF vs Choi Sol Kyu/Chae Yoo Jung [1] - arguably the best U-19 XD pair, reigning AJC champion and ranked no 1
SF vs (possibly) Wang Yilu/Huang Yaqiong [3/4] - any CHN pair is always tough to beat
F vs (possibly) Edi Subaktiar/Melati Daeva Oktaviani [2] or Liu Yuchen/Chen Qingchen [3/4] or Jung Jae Wook/Shin Seung Chan [5/8]

As for Edi/Melati, assuming they can beat the Singaporean pair:
R16 vs Tang Chun Man/Ng Wing Yung or Jaromir Janacek/Lucia Serna [9/16]
QF vs (possibly) Jung Jae Wook/Shin Seung Chan [5/8]
SF vs (possibly) Liu Yuchen/Chen Qingchen [3/4]
F vs against any of the top-half pair mentioned in the earlier paragaph.

Call me a pessimist but I personally don't think INA can retain the Gold in XD. If Alfian/Shella or Edi/Melati can prove me wrong, then they really deserve the Gold Medal as the pairs they beat are all the best junior XD pairs in the world.

Kevin/Maretha are on fire! At this rate, INA will probably still have 4 XD pairs in R16.

For Putra/Ni Ketut:
R16 vs Kim Jae Hwan/Lee So Hee or Tan Wee Gleen/Chow Mei Kuan [5/8]
QF vs (possibly) Liu Yuchen/Chen Qingchen [3/4]
- I am quite certain they will be stopped either in the next round or at best QF.

For Kevin/Maretha:
R16 vs Wang Yilu/Huang Yaqiong [3/4]
- likely to lose in R16 also....unless there's a huge upset!

Hafiz Faisal/Putra Eka Rhoma [1] vs Pei Tianyi/Zhang Ningyi - yet another tricky tie but I think the INA pair can progress.

Kim Jae Hwan/Kim Jung Ho vs Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Rafiddias Akhdan Nugroho [5/8] - also a tough tie in prospect that will test Kevin/Rafi.

Dede Ryan Philip/Marcel Simon vs Edi Subaktiar/Arya Maulana Aldiartama [2] - Edi/Arya should also progress.

GD R16
Yu Xiaohan/Huang Yaqiong [5/8] vs Maretha Dea Giovani/Ni Ketut Mahadewi Istirani - should be end of the road for Maretha/Ni Ketut.

Saki Hayata/Akane Watanabe vs Melati Daeva Oktaviani/Rosyita Eka Putri Sari [5/8] - Melati/Rosyita might be the only INA GD pair left in QF.

XD R16
Kasper Antonsen/Line Kjaerfeldt [5/8] vs Alfian Eko Prasetya/Shella Devi Aulia [9/16] - Alfian/Shella at least fulfill their seeding. Let's see how they fare against Europe's best XD pair.

Wang Yilu/Huang Yaqiong [3/4] vs Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Maretha Dea Giovani - it will be a massive upset if the INA pair can beat the CHN pair.

Putra Eka Rhoma/Ni Ketut Mahadewi Istirani [9/16] vs Tan Wee Gleen/Chow Mei Kuan [5/8] - ditto for Putra/Ni Ketut.

Tang Chun Man/Ng Wing Yung vs Edi Subaktiar/Melati Daeva Oktaviani [2] - Edi/Melati could also be the only XD pair that remains by QF.
