Given their junior ranking they should be 5/8 and KOR should be #1 so I guess they have weighted their (BUL) victory in the recent Bulgarian International quite highly. The Thai they lost to should also have 5/8 seeding but it's the Chinese pairs moved up considerably to have been handed seedings compared to world junior ranking [dropping the Thai out of a seed].
Goes to show you need the luck of the draw: CHN 5/8 seed up against KOR, unseeded but should by the rankings probably be 5/8, drawn against each other in R1. Might have very well been the same draw if the rankings were followed to do the seeding. In any case the winner of this match will likely meet the Bulgarians in the QF ... [and probably beat them easily].Last edited by demolidor; 10-29-2012 at 06:19 AM.

Found out the non-entry of Denmark in the team event has cost them entry places for the individual tournament which explains their entries of in particular SM Jensen & AT Madsen doubles pairing. Lucky as they already are they get to meet unseeded Kim Hyo Min & Min Ji Lee in the second round
(provided they both win their R1). Should be interesting but most likely they will not meet their QF minimum result expectation ...

I'm sure you would be saying otherwise again if INA was drawn against unranked CHN in the 1st round
(in any case it is in the regulations that other considerations can be taken into account). If certain junior tournaments follow the rankings you also call them idiots so whichever way the wind blows I guess
. Have no problems with following the ranking although it is "strange" junior tournaments count for as many points as senior results apparently ...
Team entry deadline was months earlier than individual. Who knows they didn't even know they could afford the trip back then ... [though of course they still should have registered just in case

R128 of BS, GS, and XD will be played today. I expect all INA players (except Fikri) to progress to the next round.
BS R128
Kenta Nishimoto vs Fikri Ihsandi Hadmadi - it will be a good result if Fikri can beat the Japanese.
Kiril Boyarskiy vs Arief Gifar Ramadhan - Gifar will probably be stopped in R32 by Kento Momota.
GS R128
Rina Andriani vs Jacqueline Guan - Rina should advance
Ruselli Hartawan vs Thu Huyen Le - a tricky match for Ruselli considering the Vietnamese was seeded 4th at the AJC.
Setyana Mapasa vs Maria Mitsova - a tough match awaits Setyana if she can clear the first round.
XD R128
Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Maretha Dea Giovani vs Vibhvimadusha Kukulage/Dayarathne Yasmitha Sankapale - a warm-up match for Kevin to prepare himself for the more important BD matches.

THA has a bad day so far, losing 3 of their best players in BS: Khosit Phetpradab [3/4], Thammasin Sitthikom [5/8], and Pannawit Thongnuam. They are left with just Adulrach Namkul who also might lose to Jung Jae Wook shortly afterwards.

BS R64
Andrew D'Souza vs Fikri Ihsandi Hadmadi - a good result by Fikri in beating Kenta Nishimoto earlier today. He should progress to R32 and will face Rohit Yadav [5/8].
Panji Akbar Sudrajat [9/16] vs Seo Seung Jae - not sure about this...just hope the AJC bronze-medallist can beat the Korean boy.
Lars Schaenzler vs Thomi Azizan Mahbub [9/16] - Thomi should take this.
Arief Gifar Ramadhan vs Gerald Ong Soon Lee - ditto for Gifar although Kenta Momota [2] will beat him in the next round.
GS R64
Hanna Ramadhini just made it to R32 after a tense 13-21, 21-18, 22-20 victory over Yap Rui Chen
Rina Andirani vs Ng Wing Yung - also tough to call...hoping for the INA player to win.
Aya Ohori vs Setyana Mapasa - it will be an excellent result if Setyana can beat the Japanese player.
