the 2nd gen BS LYD is officially called the BS LYD N.
the red color is actually not that bad if you look at the real life version.
the spec is supposedly the same as the previous generation, however, the new one measured a lot lighter. the old LYD is a top range 3U, while the LYDN is a bottom range 3U.

I have a theory.
The last 6 months with JJS, JJS had been battling injury and not playing like the smashing god that he is, so LYD was using his signature racket because it's more head heavy than the old BS09 giving him more punch from the back court.
Now that he's playing with KSH (?) in MD, Ko is more of a back court player, so LYD is capitalising on this by going with the faster BS12 in his early matches with him.
Sound plausible?

I believe Lee Yong dae use BS LYD because he is sponsor by Victor to use it, not cause JJS is injury.. so now he use BS 12, is maybe marketing purpose by Victor . Same aspect as Fu haifeng/cai yun use kason F9 /C7 rackets.

agree with Ferrerkiko, i suppose this is wat Victor marketing plan but seems like Lee Yong Dae like balanced racket for smoother control. but i just wonder Victor claim that the BS LYD is tailor made for Lee but now he stop using it..

If it's marketing purpose why LYD is using BS12, so this must be strange because the BS12N is surely going to be released in early 2013. So why would he use the blue one instead of the newer grey one?

There's no point trying to make sense of Victors' marketing plan because it's never made sense.
After the SW37 comes.......the SW30!
After the BS12 comes........the BS15!
Not a single racket over 300mm balance point, when Yonex and LiNing make rackets 310+!
Heck, LYD used a six year old racket up until recently.

I thought MX 80 and superwave 35 is close to 305mm balance point ?

The White/Gold version looks better imo, the colors match/blend in with each other more so than the Red/Gold combination.

While this LYD 2nd gen is a repaint, MX-JJS is not. Graphene reinforced T-Joint and a more flexible shaft says it all. I'd also like to say MX80, MX 70 and MX London are three different real models.
Knicknack, please be responsible for what you are saying on this forum, for your words can be taken by your fellow members seriously and maybe the deciding factor for the racquets they are deciding to purchase.
