Inviting Strangers to Play

Dear all

I can see so many people here inviting ppl to join
them for badminton sessions,what if you get some
weirdos who come here to create trouble.I am also
organising games for my social group but only exclusive
to ppl staying around my area because i know them.
I have two groups,one group is for serious player who
down smile at all,when they step into the court they kill
each other,and another group is for social players who
are always smiling and friendly,some ppl thought they
are ting tong.I have join other groups but i m
not the organiser,and i met one idoit who step into the
court trying to teach ppl how to play.If you make a mistake
he will put on a black face and tell you it's your fault.One day
i partnered him most unfortunately and he started his nonsense
,i told him to back off.From that day onwards i never partner
him again or even play against him.After that he started to have
problem with three other players,finally my organiser gave him
the red card and off he goes.So becareful of weirdos when inviting.
I do a interview before accepting them...hehe..just kidding.

Your story reminds me of someone I just played with last nite. A total stranger partnered me for the first time. He is probably twice my age. He wasn't nasty at all but he keeps on giving me unpleasant look when I make a mistake. But when he make a mistake, he will quickly say "aiyah.... sorry... sorry... sorry". Maybe he wasn't happy because I didn't say the word "sorry".

I am pretty confident that I can beat him anytime if I play single with him but thats beside the point cos I really sux last nite. I think I must have played my worst in my life last nite.

Anyway I never like to play games at this moment because I feel that I should still improve on a wider spectrum of my strokes and footworks before I should start playing in quality games to improve my game strategy. So far there only 1 good friend of mine who is kind enough (and he is also the best I have ever seen) to spend his time to train me casually.

Let me tell you i have bad experience with many players
who are very hot temper,but i don't give a damn.
If you know he is one kind just don't partner him,he
will get the message loud n clear.There is this young
man in my group,he gets very emotional each mistake
he makes and when he lose he will come and tell me
about his partner.His partner happens to be a very expereince
player,i ask him how come it's his fault and not his (young man)
This young man is too stiff with his stroke lack experience and
here he is blaming his partner.I told him it's his fault because
you don't know where to cover n how the hell is he going
to back you up when u run all over the place.

so, did you apologies to him after the game? Sometimes I do that if I'm playing particularly badly.

Yes I did but only when the mistake was an unforce error on my part. I wonder are we supposed to say sorry for every single mistake we make. Maybe I should just print the word "SORRY" on my shirt when my day is bad.

Partnering someone new especially a total stranger always tense me up. Anyway, I hate playing games and I like full time training.

Moreover, that day was the first time I used my new T-10 since I bought it from someone a week ago and boy... most of my backhand lift in front of the net will send the birdie way high and out of the opponent's backline. Throughout the game I failed to adjust my strength with this powerful racket. But the feeling this racket gives me is totally different from my cab21 and cab20. I might get another T-10 but thats gonna be a brand new racket.

Hi guys,

Yes does seems like a risk when you play with strangers. I remember playing with one who insist on winnning every point. It looks like to him, our oppenents were unworthy to stand opposite us. Thing is that our opponents were elder age but much more experienced players. this guy even want to make a fuss about line calls and actually went over to the other side to see where the shuttle landed( dont ask me how he can see). It got to the point he was so faus that he threw his raq with a bang on the floor. This was one extreme wierd guy. Unpleasant experience but I belive that these are minority and always welcome new players.
