Hi any advice on a Yonex Carbonex 10 (c1984) racket?
Found my old one in the loft and plan to start playing after a 20yr break!
Is it worth re-stringing and re-gripping or should I buy a new racket? The frame is in perfect condition so seems a shame to bin.
I remember I loved the feel of the racket and the head was nicely weighted.
Is there a modern equivelent out there?

Not many of these around. Carbon fibreglass if I remember correctly.

This one be careful of stringing at higher tensions. It's not as strong as the carbonex 9 (metal frame), carbonex 20 from the same era.

thanks, it is a carbon fibre shaft with a T joint and what looks to be a fibre glass coated head (?metal core).
what tension should it be set at, below 20?

is it worth re-stringing/gripping or instead making a trip to the shops to buy a new one?

    Hi,
    I have a Carbonex 10 for sale.
It's a vintage model (1984-1987) that I purchased new in 1989. Played it for a couple of month, then gave up badminton for over 20 years.
I started playing with colleagues a few months ago, 1h/week, but then I broke a string.
Since I purchased a new modern racket, so I'm open to offers for that collector Cab10.
    Here are some pics :

Yes it's worth keeping it! I remember using this racket, and although a touch head-heavy for me back in the day, it gave blistering smashes! I had it strung at 23 with the trendy neon green Babolat strings lol.
