i cant remember that ld play in this tournament before.

as long as u are university,then u are qualify to participate
while who will be selected will be a matter of ability.

Well, as I said, whether he's a u student or good at study is not the point (I doubt if LYD is a full-time u student).I got friends during university time played in international university badminton competition and halted it as the experience of his badminton life...What I mean is, such competition should be more meaningful for "real" full time u student for a national team number 1 player what has lot more international experience like OG, WC, SS, etc, who should not exploit the "real" u student opportunity of a life-time exposure.In badminton, it's sad that almost all national bodies (particularly of Asian countries) are over-done in getting cosmatic titles to decorate themselves with false and distirted honours...
