As long as you have proper lighting, flooring, height, temperature, and finally price, you shouldn't have a problem.
a = court cost per hour b = amount of time courts booked monthly (forecast- probably average 5h per day *2 courts=10hrs per day) c = monthly rent & rates d = monthly staffing cost If: a*c=c+d then yes!
2 courts is extremely inefficient, so unless you're charging an obscene hourly rate, consider yourself proper Fkkkd. hiring clerk for $15/hr to run 2 courts = costs $7.50/hr for each court hiring clerk for $20/hr to run 8 courts = costs $2.50/hr for each court (save 67%) 300sq.ft change rooms & washrooms for 2 courts = 8% of gym that doesn't generate revenue 500sq.ft. change rooms & washrooms for 8 courts = 3% of gym that doesn't generate revenue I can write a 100 page essay detailing why a 2 court club will fail miserably. But since I'm lazy, I suggest you open one up and find out for yourself.
Pretty sure i didn't. The essence is for your revenue to at least cover your cost, what's messed up about that.
first of all, you put c instead of b you also asked him to aim for 0 profit (because of the =) not to mention the formula you're suggesting is way oversimplified aka useless
Ha Ha, the answer was fitting of the crazily fluffy question, and he asked will it pay for itself not will it turn a profit but yes should have been b. What else can you tell him from the information he gave(none). For all we know in his city folk pay $50ph for a court, play 24 hours a day and you can buy a warehouse for $10. Then a one court hall would be viable ffs.
My advice is , dont even bother ! It is not sustainable, Just calculate the overhead cost for yourself , is not rocket -science , must be one of the craziest idea on here ever (thats why I have to reply) !!!!
I sense some sarcasm there , LOL , This thumpsky lad definitely got the business acumen requires to run our banks , i.e. RBS ,
I assume these are Canadian prices. Perhaps the OP will share human reaources cost by joining with a health club or gym.
Vancouver land prices are $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ crazy. Renting of a warehouse will be skyhigh. Not to mention that you need to get a business permit and other zoning issues. Unless the 2 courts are occupied 24/7 and charged at obscene rates...this is doomed for failure. Here's a tip... IF Badminton Vancouver couldn't open actually in Vancouver (it's on Mitchell Island)...what makes you think you can open a viable badminton business in Vancouver?
i could be wrong, but i've read that someone from local started his badminton gym business with 3 courts. now he owns the 5 big badminton facilities around the region. so if you can afford to fail, then why not give it a try.
