where does your string break most often?

My cross string on the sweet spot broke and then i got it restrung and the same thing happened again, maybe i hit with that string alot cuz it shows alot of wear and tear

i use my strings to destruction... they normally break at the mains, approximately the upper corner (approx 11 or 1 o'clock, depends on how u flip the racket when u look at it) of the sweet spot.

I always use bg65 @ 22lbs. I know when its about to break because at that point, the weakest point is pretty obvious... its that spot where a main and cross string have rubbed into each other, making one (usually the main) so thin and worn out.

I play 2x a week/ 2hrs per session. I replace strings maybe 2-3x/yr.

So far, I have broken 4 strings and everyone of them broke just slightly above the center and it is always the main string that breaks. My racquets were strung at 22 main and 24 cross.

i break strings when i lob the ball high up(long rally).. i guess by doing so , the strings gets moved and the friction between horizontal and vertical strings makes them snap.
strings always ti68 @26lbs.

oh yea, and does haveing 2 different tension gives a better feel? whats the difference ?
i was adviced by a friend to string my rac's at 28/30

Normally my string break after a hitting the shuttle hard on the frame or after do a lob/smash
Normal near the central with main string breaking.
I string my racquets at 25lbs
You can tell the string is breaking when there are a tear mark appear

are anyone as sad as me and put black insulating tape around the head of their rackets just to stop strings breaking from scooping the shuttle off the ground?

You can break strings by doing that?

I've broken a couple:
1. sweet spot area, main string x 1
2. AT800OFF, 22lbs, some unknown string, base (near the T). Looks like it unravelled
3. NS8000k, sweet spot area, main string x 1 (Vectran coating wore off, BG85, 28lbs)
4. NS8000k, BG85, 28lbs, around the head of racquet, cross string x 1, bad mishit during forced clear.

no, its not that. those strings are too durable. they could last for years, especially if the tension is low. i had to cut mine in favor of more powerful strings (bg66). Maybe you should too!

After reading this thread I notice that on my racquet the mains seem to cut into the crosses near the center. The racquet functions fine but not sure how long this will servive, specially when i'm laying against a agressive player..

not sure about sad but u just have given us an idea, how to protect your racquet strings

thanks. lots of people i play with have started doing it now, not only does it stop your strings from breaking but it stops the head from becoming scratched.

Good day, I have broken 4 racket strings so far after a year of intensive playing. 3 of myself's and one of my friend's and all of them are of the centre on the main string. either one of them in the middle, all of the 4 rackets. And suppose thats where the sweet point is?? Does that mean i always hit in the right spot?? I really hope so. haha but i do hit on the frame sometimes with a really "great" Ping sound haha...

Ng, you must be joking Sir DinkALot is way too good for me. haha i have that Ping sound due to mishit haha... But i really hope i can improve more though. Coz i have an interclub competition coming soon and i think i am not good enough for the team at the moment. Hopefully, i will improve more within the next 2 weeks... Thank you by the way. haha...

My string almost always damages first outside the frame due to picking up shuttles .. It could snap any time now. I think the reason is because it an AT and the string is less protected. After next stringing I will/must use some tape to cover it

Woah, what racquet are you using? The Yonex ones have these grooves at the upper string area. You can pick all you want!
