No chance to watch it Downunder. Not many people really cares about badminton. Hope to watch it on YouTube . Most people are already talking about the second Test Match between S Africa and Australia . Come next Thursday it will be carnival time in the Adelaide Oval.

Mate, don't quite get what you mean. Is it convenient or appropriate to elaborate? If not,it's OK,just curious.

I think MJ's defence is very good, why would u say that "even MJ were able to retrieve many of them"? she cant be the world no1 in mixed and was world no1 in women doubles if her defence is not one of the best...

No live telecast? Such a pity. Watching delayed telecast or replays when you already know the results isn't quite the same thing;still better than nothing. Hope you can catch it on badmintonlink later.

I agree MJ's defence is very good if not one of the best ( for women players) but in XD, they usually attack the ladies with smashes to score points and Chan were not able to do that when given the opportunity. You can't expect Goh to do that.

Yeah, that's right. 4 titles it's not enough, especially in home ground

It's their problem if they are not so enthusiastic.

it's certainly an exciting thing to see if there are countries that can afford to be a leading contender for the country which is always dominated... hmm

It's part of LYB's long-term plan to have Zhang Nan continue to partner Zhao Yunlei half the time more to ensure a reliable XD for team events, such as Sudirman Cup,and the rest of the time for Zhang Nan to pair up with another young female player to work towards Rio OG'16. He didn't say why but I suspect Zhao YL may be slowing down (marriage or politics? no idea, just speculating).

So it's true Xu Chen was really sick.He was down with fever two days ago and admitted to hospital for drips the last two days, shuttling between the hospital and tournament hall. The coaches and team doctor wanted him to withdraw from the CHN Open but he insisted on playing and even won the title today. For his admirable fighting spirit ,LYB held him up as an example worth emulating.

worth-emulating indeed for Xu Chen... that's remarkable.. though he wasn't in an unstable condition he still can produce such thunderous smashes...

but when zhang/zhao will be separated? is it in this near future?

I guess for Xu Chen's case which is gastritis, it can be controlled by medication and the fact that he was playing doubles with a partner to share the workload, it may be bearable and worth a go. At most give up if it becomes too much to bear. But not for physical discomfort or injury that hampers movement, as in the case of WYH whose heavily-bandaged knee may also pose a sort of psychological handicap,eg when she had to run the full diagonal to retrieve a drop shot.
