I hate to say it but Neon is crap. Even after twenty years of vigorous competition from the Japanese, the U.S. automakers still make unreliable cars.

Here in the U.K we have Hot Hatches whuch are small cars with a big engine in it. i.e the Peugeot 206 GTI 136/180 BHP. the Renault Clio Sport 172. Ford Focus RS 170 BHP.

Not All American Cars are Unreliable but The French Have Over Taken the Americans On Reliability now. My Mum Used to Own a 1996 Model Chrysler Neon 2.0L 123 BHP.
She Got rid of it after a Year as it was Unreliable and she bought a 1998 Nissan Sunny. Then She Bought Her Scenic for all You People out there that say French Cars are crap well there not. My Dads Peugeot 406 has got 123,000 miles on the clock and been totally reliable and my mums Scenic had 12,500 miles on the clock and is totally reliable. You Americans have had some good cars i.e Shellby Mustang

Humm, . . . I have many auto mechanics friends who will bet their life on this issue: if GM or any of the U.S. automakers would give them, free, cars to drive, they would never accept the offer. To them GM = Garbage Motor.

Shelby mustangs are modified mustangs under the direction of carl shelby and not really OEM equipments. Same goes for Lingenfelter and Gale Banks's camaros and corvettes. One pays a lot more for them so they better perform and last longer thna factory version.

Actually american quality had gone up a bit lately while the american made Japanese car quality had gone down a bit. Almost like the SP version of honda accord

everything built in the USA is made to be disposable. Afterall, if the thing never breaks, you can't keep selling them to the same person.

I dunno GM is not that bad here. I wouldn't say they were garbage but i would say that The Chrysler Neon is Rubbish. From GM you have The Vectra, Zafera, Corsa.

Please note GM Europe and Ford Europe produce much better quality cars than the North American parent companies.

Some People in the U.S Should Look at their own Car Manufactorers before they judge. GM & Ford make better Quality cars than the Likes of Chrysler & Dodge.
