    Ti-10 with BG-70PRO (21x23lbs): 5 - 8 months

I play mainly in doubles 15-18 games per week and mainly with nylon shuttlecock. I'm a recreational attacking player but not a "hard hitter" so I smash (half-smash of 70-90% of power - controlled smash), drive, drop, attacking clear, slice, rush, push, block, stop and lift (flick) too.

When I coach during the HS badminton season, 2--3 weeks, no more than 4.

During the off-season, about a couple of months. That's about twice or three times a week of playing, 2--3 matches each time.

    BG85, 27x28.

You got to know how many rackets bluejeff owns. If I am switching between 10-15 rackets, I guess all strings can last me very long.

    Default Not long enough

My 4 most recent restrings have lasted
    8,7,7,14 days
all breaks were in the centre on a cross string.

This is on the racquets I only use for singles. Ti10 and MP100. Both 2U.
Both using BG68-Ti. Both strung at 22lb main x 24lb cross.

I break strings on my doubles racquets far less often, even using BG66 at similar tensions. My doubles racquets are lighter and less head-heavy though.

For a while, I thought it might be something to do with my stringing, but looking at the strings, there is extensive notching on the crosses. The mains look undamaged.

All the BG68-Ti is from the same reel (bought from reputable UK shop). Could it be some duff string?

I have been practising my singles high serve a lot recently, and hitting them pretty hard.

I've got some BG80 and BG65 lying around if I were to change string.

Shall I just restring the crosses until the mains deteriorate?

    What to do? Opinions please.

    wow....you must hit really hard
just broke the factory strings on the winex yesterday, so that's about 7 months, of increasingly more frequent usage.

    Neil

That sounds like a combination between not durable string and also your practice, in theory if you are hitting in the sweet spot then you are hitting in the same place all the time, but to last for that time is very odd.

I only see strings this durable in very hard hitters who just welly it and their strings last a week or two tops.

Could it be from racket storage?? Does anything in your bag rub against the centre of the string bed, not directly but in another compartment maybe when you carry it or store it??

    Question

I noticed on my rackets that BG80 loses tension in about 2 weeks from 23lbs original tension, the stringers say they have not noticed it when they string their own rackets and I am just being pernickety..........has anyone else noticed rapid tension loss when using BG80??

    That's something I hadn't considered.
I often stuff 7-9 racquets in one side of my bag. Every thing else goes in the other side. If it was that though, I'd expect to see the problem evenly distributed across all my racquets.

Not really, you would only see it in the one the racket which came into contact with the other segment of your bag which if you always placed the same racket at the front all the time (like me) then one or two would wear through quickly because they are always kept at the front of your bag, the others would be fine.

Anybody else? Any of the stringers?

Top of my list at the moment is going back to BG65.
