I wish mine would last that long -_-. Which is why I only use BG65s.

ok so we now know how long the strings last before it breaks or u change them, but how long do these strings KEEP their tension? For me:

    rsl ti650 - initial 27 lbs, down to >24lbs in 3 games
    bg85 - 27lbs down to >25lbs in 6 games
    bg80 - 27lbs down to >26lbs in 3 games

note - all within 2 hours of a playing session...

anyone been thru the same or im having poor luck with string life here? its annoying as i've to change the way i play when i can feel that the initial tension has gone...

hi amfslash,...how did you measure the tensions post usage?...by bringing them to your stringer and ask them to measure or how?..thanks

we compared the string tension with freshly strung rackets at the shop. not super scientifically exact measurement i know, but good enough for me and my string guy...

I always wondered about how long the tension would hold on your racquet, or if it is even strung @ the proper tension that you ask for. Does anyone know if there is a proper way to test tensions on your racquet? Everyone I know just use their hands and I find that everyone has a different view on the feel of tensions. So it cannot be accurate!

Ranges anywhere from 2 weeks - 2 months. Just yesterday after restringing my AT700 (old), I mishit a smash and pop--goes the weasel. Wasted my precious NBG98. I think it was just bad luck or I screwed up the stringing job, I think I'm quite good at it. I stick with the bad luck theory. =)

I have only broken 3 strings in 15+ years. I usally get them restrung because the tension gets to low after x months. Saying this, I just broken my string in less 2 months. Maybe be bad grommets in the frame? BG80 at 24lbs on AS 7

i use bg66 sharp mainly..32 lbs.i have my 3 rackets strung at the same tension so i can tell whether the tension has dropped or not by compared with my other racket and listen to the sound it made after each session.surprisingly sometimes even after 6 or 7 games,it still has the same sound tune!!guess i have a good stringer.the longest was 15 games,2hr each.i always test the tension by this way.to me 32 lbs sounds like 'TINGggg',if it droped to 30 lbs, then i hear 'TENGgg'.28 lbs would soundlike 'tongg'..whenever i heard a 'tonggg' then i know its about time to say goodbye to the string.i hate it because i always right about it !!!

    bg80 - 27-28lbs - 6-8wks
    bg65 - 31lbs - 6-8wks .... i felt that bg65 only starts showing its true potential at 28lbs above

whoa whoa whoa ...i hope its still not too late to answer you..or you already restring it??piak sounds like hitting the horse to me.YEEE HAAH.haha..anyway,what i was trying to say about the sound of the string was..er..let put it this way.im sure you know how DO RE MI sounds like, right?lets say MI is the highest tension of all, then if you have anything that are making a lower sound tone than MI,or even RE,means the tension has dropped. TING = MI TENG = RE TONG = DO . hope you understand my description.

BG66, depends on where I restring it. Tension 26
Sometimes, 3-4 weeks, sometimes a week-.-
I still yet found a good place to restring my rackets.

i play 2 to 3 times a week, about 3 hours each time.
my favorite string is BG66 @ 26lbs. but always break less than a month so i gave up on using it. now my second favorite is BG68TI @26lbs. lasts 1-1/2 month to 2 month.
also the better you get, the fast string breaks. haha because hit the same sweet spot more consistently and harder.
